I don't "know" the current owner, but I know who he is as do some other members here, and he is on FB. He told another member that he knows what he bought, and had been wanting the car for years. He says he knows where the original body is. He also has a real GSX and other buicks.

Thanks Chris. Very interesting. It's good to hear that he knows the car and the history, and even knows where the original body is. I wonder if he's planning on reuniting it with the cowl tag and VIN plate? If so, let him know that Jim Rodgers currently has a correct GS455 "BW" frame for sale for only $400. http://www.v8buick.com/showthread.php?272500-70-GS-Big-Block-frame&highlight=BW+frame

We can debate if it's going to be as structurally sound, worth more or less, alive or dead, etc.. But based on the poll results, and the fact that this car was re-bodied/re-framed with a 71 body and frame, does everyone agree that since the original body is still around and a correct BB frame is available that IF the car is going to be restored or re-restored, it should at least be done with the correct parts?

the prognosis doesn't look good Joe thanks to this being a vote thread and who knows maybe it will change how the judging guidelines are looked upon.

I am not in contact with him, I just know who he is from pictures of the car that he has posted on FB. He has friends on this forum, so he is likely aware of this thread.

Thanks Chris - I'd suspect if the body is around then the frame is too & someone was just lazy and #539 may still yet live on, whatever that means to each of us.

I do not think they will be reunited... The car was chased back to early 2000 and from my understanding the body & frame were destroyed by an alcoholic druggie (K) as I was told. I also believe he did the rebody/ air car ect.
The VIN tag was glued in...
Also you can see the trim tag was not installed very well..
Pictures of where the vinyl top molding holes & skylark emblem holes.
THIS whole car is nothing more than a 1971 Skylark with 70 bumpers, grille, GS hood and headlight bezels. ..........
