I believe the "400" also indicates the 350 4 bbl engine. The 2 bbl 350 came with the ST 300 2 speed transmission.
Got an e-mail that they are working on a title. Trying to see if they have one or can get one. I may have to go the VT route.
I am excited to get it. My first car ever was a 1980 Buick LeSabre which kicked off my Buick sickness. Too bad they didn't make trucks at that time.
Your 68 LeSabre has a 1 year only oil pan for the 350. Prior year was a 340 engine, later year was a little different chassis. The 126" wheelbase for Wildcat started in 65 as did the "400" package for the LeSabre. in 65/6/7 it was a ST400 switch pitch... with BOP bell pattern.
Appreciate the info. I'm excited to get the car. It's been too long since I've had a Buick luxobarge.
While I like classic cars in general, something about the Buicks really turns my head. While I'm sorry that is the way you got your Buick, I'm glad it went to someone who appreciated it.
69 up cars didnt have a longer clip unlike the previous models. just trim differences already had room for the 455.
As an aside, 71-72 Pontiac Grand Ville's had a longer front clip than the Catalina. different header and quarter extensions too. Dont know if that applied to LeSabre's, Centurians and Electras.
Finally got to go look at it. Will be a project for sure. Trunk has two big holes over body mounts. Rear windshield leaks and has rusted out interior part of trunk filler panel. Driver's side bottom quarter panel is rusted thru.
