hi, ive got a bad bad 425 olds engine , boy i did,nt know those things could go .it,s a beast . my brother inlaw had a 67 grand prix and i though that thing was fast , untill he go blown away by a 68 biuck wild cat with that killer 430 engine . that was a demonic engine . i mean quiet no lumpty lump idle ; like a lexus or mercedes engine . but brutal torque. so i raced a wildcat with the olds and i edged him out bay almost a car , & i had single exhust i really though that olds was a piece of crap. when i first got it ,the guy i got it from said that it needed a tune-up so i cjasnged everything .& istill ran like crap . so my step-father [great man], traced diwn what cyl,s were missing and i had gotten grease on the new plugs & that why it ran bad . but when i clend and reinstalled those plugs that engine was a diffrent animal. it was the best engine i ever had in a car , i mean you could really beat it & it was still ok

    wtf does this say?

i'm pretty sure Walter just said that while he respects the BBB 430, he'd kill all us all with his BBO 425.

that, and he likes to grease his spark plugs.

hey , i love buick,s too .i have a buddy with a 79 electra , with a 69 430 in it, and i,ve driven it . blew away quite a few i-roc,s in the late 80,s and i had a 79 cutlass .brougham .crush velour seats sun roof &a lousy 260 old,s one day i was on the skyway racing a apollo[buick] and grenaded that 260. so i went ,to the junk yard to find another engine for it & found a 1967 toronardo in there with a 385 [horsepower] old,s engine in it . well i had a lot of work to do ,but the engine only cost me $90.00 plus $7.00 tax for a grand total of $97.00 it was very clean and the heads were rebuilt. well i had to change the oil pan&the oil filter adapter, and get a 73 454 mionte carlo radiator.& trim the radiator core support to make it fit . so when i got it running . my buddy had a 82 malibu with a 305 shevvy in it. thought it was the fastest thing on the west side of chicago. so we lined up on lake st and he took of had a good jump on me cause i han a peg leg rearend . but once i caught some traction & blew by him like he was parked . i like buicks but i think that a olds engine is much more durable.i mean i,ve seen guy,s run old,s engines hot ,don,t hurt them one bit , i,ve seen buick,s melt holes in piston,s they can,t take the heat, like a olds .plus they have oiling issues.but boy do they run when they,re right , my friend in cali , tim mckenna has a 71 gs 455 stage [4] well that,s what he call,s it 4:11,s --- 4 speed ---455. that car is a beast. killed a few 440 -6 packs & 427 nova,s .i hate to say it here., but i love mopars too. great engines . but my first engine that i had to work on was a 401 nailhead , those nailheads were great engines and simple too. that,s what make,s those old engine,s great . they were simple , not like a lot of todays over head cam engines ,i rember the only overhead enginrs in american cars were the pontiac sprint 6 cyl ,and the ford427 sohc engines , and they were powerful. those were the real good old days 32cent a gallon gas and sunnoco 105 octane gas .like TYRONE DAVIS said in a song IF I COULD TURN BACK THE HAND,S OF TIME,AMEN

Cher also has a song about "Turn Back Time". Maybe if you listen to that backwords and read the post again it will make sense.:TU:

Is it just me, or is 425olds and walterbrinston the same person having a converstion with itself using two different usernames?

I mean, ho many people have orgasmic experiences between the 425 and 430, and put a space after each comma????? ,

I know the lead post in this thread reads like, well, it doesn't really say much at all. But, as much as I want to make a comment, I have to remember that Oldsmobiles are the closest thing to a "brother" that Buicks have. If I couldn't have my Buicks, I'd be driving 442's ... and maybe teaching English on the side.
It seems appropriate to me, on this subject, to compliment the Buick community for being really pretty well-spoken, even keeled and tolerant group. I have been around some other "enthusiasts" from other makes and you'd think Hazard County (as in Dukes) was Ivy League. Whoa! :3gears:

I am tempted to offer the guy a dictionary ... my treat.

Don't forget about a possible cosmic experience, could be communing with itself from two different time and space continuums at the same time. That would explain things... well maybe.

My God, what is wrong with people. Use correct punctuation, like " ' " rather than " , ", and what ever happened to sentence structure, and paragraphs? Capital letters are a good one too. As is proof reading before posting.

Putting a little effort into your post makes it (readable) more enjoyable and easier to read.

Nope, different people. walterbrinston made stacks of simple spelling & gramatical errors. Like " does,nt " rather than " doesn't " for example. 425olds writes like a hyperactive 13y.o. chick, using the combined power of full stops and the mighty comma to indicate the end of a sentence, or something. Shoot, I dont know what they were taught at school, but geez, put some effort in. Please.

My suspicion was confirmed by "them" in another post. Apparently a case of lost username/password or something like that, thus a second ID having been created. :error:
