???Hmmmm Since everyone on this thread is well versed in other brands besides Buicks, I am looking for a 1961 Mercury Meteor 600 [ or 800 ] 2 door SHELL , basically want/need a somewhat decent body/frame to use...first car I had to "yard bomb" was a 61 Meteor 600 , 233, 3 on the tree....did a LOT of experimenting with it, car body was settled around the frame, not exactly practical to restore, so I used it as a guinne pig for learning auto repair/rebuilding in the early 80's.....I kept the car, stored on "mill felt" and blocks, in the back of my fenced in "impound yard" ...complete...96k origional, all trim, glass, mechanicals, etc.....waiting.....waiting for another "shell"... Thus far, 25 some odd years later , all I have ever found was a few 4 doors. So ..anyone out there seen any ? Have one ? ideas ?? Just what I need, another "project"......lol
I bet the judges would flip if they knew........ In a couple month's those skinny little weiner white walls would be spraying a nice gooey coating of rubber all over those quarter panel's, and that the car will get the living snot beat out of it on the drag strip for the rest of it's time spent with Brian. The way Brian treat's a car at Stanton, you wonder if he's Drag racing, or circle track racing with all the "laps" he does  :3gears:
Hmmmmmmmmmmmm........ Don't know if that's the ugliest thing I have ever seen, or the COOLEST! Maybe both?!?!? No matter. It won't replace my favorite car at the PSMCDR-Brian's "other" Mercury!! That looks cool in photos. Will we be seeing it in person at the PSMCDR?!?!?!? :bglasses:
I can assure you the '58 Olds is WAAAAAAY uglier than that. Lots of gratuitous chrome plastered on the sides. And that's coming from an Olds lover. Beautiful car, Brian! Can't wait to see it in person.
Still out of it from the weekend Thanks everyone it means a lot. :TU: It has not been an easy project....but getting first place first time out......just shows how much this project spiraled out of control! The plan is September P/S drags for a serious thrashing. There are already some little marks in the driveway. Clamps, snubber and some more carb tuning in the near future
Well.... Brian updated his signature, but we have yet to hear from Miller what happened to the Firebird??? What is going on, Tom! o No:
So, what are you bringing to Martin? Is Smiley going to let you row the gears on his w-31? Or will you be running the silver taxi? Inquiring minds want to know!
That's only momentary. He'll get another offer he can't refuse and then Tom will have yet ANOTHER avatar/signature pic................ :bglasses:
Will that be WITH or WITHOUT fender skirts???? With the big trophy win, doesn't that make your Merc an official "show Poodle"?? p Seriously Brian, CONGRATS on the FIRST PLACE at Autorama!! Quite an accomplishment!! :TU: :TU:
The boy,I mean Merc in a bubble Last I heard, the car has been placed on display in a climate controlled bag, never to be seen out in public again. :ball:
