It was raining and my feet were wet which made me miserable ,but I was having a great time. I'm lining up a 3 car hauler and since I need another truck, guess I'll go for a dooley Duramax diesel. Just need to find a good deal on one.
I need a bigger memory card for my cam. I found a '67 Riviera I think maybe a GS at another yard. It has a posi and the big pulley on the a/c comp. It runs and since I got the last car out of my uncle's field in Pa. -'71 Eldo ragtop with 62K miles and fire damage under the hood, he said I can put more in there. I guess he wants a little different variety. He will probably like some of the '50's cars.
And this happened today in Ft Lauderdale so I guess my truck will be going to the boneyard soon. Nothing like a redlight runner to make your day.
looks more like he was asleep at the wheel, for you to have gotten all the way across the intersection for him to tag you in the rear end.
nice pics ted, hope nobody was hurt, truck can be replaced, human life cant good luck getting a new truck buford owner in ct
In the middle pic above, redlight runner's truck is sitting almost exactly where mine was at during the turn when the crash happened. Northbound I-95 turn lane at Davie Blvd. after delivering 2manybuicks' patio roof panels.ou: My trailer was pushed into the side of a brand new '10 VW Passat CC that the guy bought 2 days before. Redlight runner got a 2 for 1 hit. Junky 'Yota was really destroyed and had to be hauled away. I drove my Chevy home 230 miles but it has extensive rear axle, suspension and frame damage. Not to mention the undercarriage damage to the trailer and 1 damaged and 1 missing fenders. I think one fender went sailing off the overpass onto 95 and most of the contents of my bed went flying onto the roadway. The axle was hit so hard that the leafspring dented the muffler and the bed floor is wrinkled. The slide in hitch was bent at a 45 angle. I drove home at 55mph and made it. These pics show some of the damage.
See what your insurance man says......LKQ in Bradenton has a 2001 or 2002 Chevy truck, x-cab, shortbed in it.....clean body....was cash-4-clunkers trade-in. It is in the first row of cars/trucks there.
The cars you show in the junkyards are in a lot better shape than the ones that we have to start with in Canada. Junkyards are my walmarts.
strange....the stone shilds of that 49 buick fastback is in my garage here in sweden...was in that yard 2007.....look like it has been well picked over now found 2 hubcaps to a 57 cadillac...had to dig almost a feet with the screwdriver to get them loose (lol) regards stig
Guys, im jealous! You have really cool cars on the boneyards. Here in Finland we have only really junky stuff like 80s Opels and really cool nissan and toyotas. If you are lucky guy, maybe you can find some rusty fiat... :boring:
I got back from another trip with lots of parts and a couple more cars. I have money on the rough turquoise '71 Centurion ragtop at the beginning of this thread. $400. I figure the engine is worth that. I hauled a '68 Olds 442 post coupe back. Got a '68 455 and pair of '68 GTO buckets from a local Md yard while there for the 442. Also bought a really nice 47K mile '72 Olds Toronado while in Pittsburgh. It was going to end up in a jyard or demo derby.
I would be interested in those parking/turn lights from 67 Riviera. The ones wich are in lower fender extension. Oh and those yards looks like heaven
It got really hectic for me but don't sweat it! I'll be going back up very soon. I went by the one yard a couple of times that is closer to you and the gate was closed. The place wasn't open for some reason. That's the place with the nicer top assembly. It is in Rising Sun. The other place is near Chestertown. The top bows on the '68 there are kind of crusty looking but not too bad. Straight, too.
You are talking about the cornering lamp assemblies. If I run across a nice set, I will get them wether or not you end up with them. Your Riv wiring harness is set up for these. Loosen up the front bumper, remove the blanked out chrome bezels from the fenders and bolt the replacement lamp assemblies in. The wire plug end is all ready there.
