Was that a 55 Roadmaster convertible?

Also, if that is a bucket seat Toronado, those are rare.

I would buy the convertible but I am sure they want $15,000 for it.

All that serious rust. What a shame. That usually means high prices over the years and now it's too late for many of them.

The Roadmaster is a '56 and it is boned out pretty hard. There is a '59 Electra convertible there also, but the whole floor and top section was hacked out with a torch recently. The frame on it is very rotted. I am sure that the '56 frame would be in the same condition.

OK V-8 Buick people; Every 1959 and 1960 GM convert that isn't worth restoring is being hacked up for the infamous "Impala Conversion". I recently sold most of the components of a rotten 60 Buick convert to a gentleman who had done several. I got 2G's for them.

Incidentally, these Impala guys have military grade "I-Radar" and they are very good at seeking these converts out! Mitch

Too bad. It is a 55. The port holes are 55, 56 port holes were tear drop shaped and that's a 55 rear look.

Not sure what "boned out" means - does it mean it took a hit in the front or has just been stripped because I see something to work with in your photos.

It's missing lots of parts and underneath is all rotted. Been sitting on the frame probably more than 20 years there. I thought the same for the '59 Electra ragtop, but saw how rusted out it was after the floors were cut out.

    Ted,
I went back through all the photos/posts to find this yards name/address. Can you provide? I want to buy that 55 Roadmaster conv or at least make an honest run at it.

#2- In looking back on this post you are a lucky man to run into so many cool cars in these yards.

That would be A B and B auto parts on US1 just south of Waycross. Been there many times but not in that last 5 or 6 years. Got a GS aircleaner from there for $5. Still have it. and no it's not for sale. During the summer that place has mosquitos the size of small birds. Do not wear shorts. And beware of snakes. I'm just saying

The yard in Pa is on Stairville Rd near Nuangola. You are going to be disappointed with that '55 RM.

you need to come out west, to west texas, nm and az, to find some more
solid stuff!! great pics of some great cars, but the rust underneath and on the floor and rockers must be horrible. recently unbolted a rear end from a 68 impala, the fasteners (5/8 SAE? fine) are dry, clean and reusable.

The Electra is at the yard in Nuangola,Pa. It's called Engler's located on Stairville Rd a couple of miles from I-81. Someone else mentioned that it has a knocking engine.

I looked at these "jewels" near Griffin,Ga today. Mostly Chevy, but a couple of Buicks. A buddy is going after the '60 wagon. There is even a '56 Roadmaster with factory a/c.

OK Mac: Why can't you move to the San Francisco area? With your tenacity for finding all this and my knowledge we could destroy the countryside looking for junk cars and scrounging parts! And believe me, there isn't anyone, no matter how rich they arwe that could have more fun. Mitch

I'm new to this board, but am a fairly longstanding member of Adam's site
    (buickcenturion.com).

I just finished restoring my 73 centurion convertible and have a few key parts left over. I have a good passenger side door with absolutely no rust. I also have a driverside door with a small rust through post at very front lower corner.
I have a quarter panel, passenger side. I only needed a very small patch that I cut out of the front/bottom of the wheel well opening. The remainder of the panel is intact and rust free. I've got a couple of good quarter extensions (maybe three) and two rally wheels.

Lastly, I have a gas tank with no rust, but with a pin hole that was caused by something hitting the bottom of the tank from the road. If you have questions, feel free to call me. I live in Athens, GA. Dennis... 770-337-0296
