Did you verify you have enough pushrod clearance? Looks like those are more than a 1.6 ratio.
They seem close to the pushrod holes in the head.

Nope. My machinist had them custom made.

Looks like the Proform rockers are slotted through the top

All the clearances were checked and the pushrods were ordered at those custom lengths. I was told the rockers are 1.6 ratio.

    The pushrods are Trend Performance

    $650

But I don't want to recommend until after I have everything up and running without any issues.

I can see why it's not working, but the instructions say to use all the normal seals and gaskets

Also, my heads are decked which necessitated the intake to be decked to match, and everything was blended and port matched.

If you use the rubber end seals with the pan, and use RTV, there isn't enough room and the seals get overly crushed and push out. The same thing can happen from block and head milling. The seals push out. All you need with the AM&P pan is RTV .

That's going to be my Saturday goal, after I get the headers on, exhaust bolted up, trans linkage back on. So probably the Saturday after this one lol

I'll tell you how I do it. On the composite gaskets, I use RTV around the coolant passages. I start with the heads bare. I put some on my finger and I outline the coolant passages, just a thin coat. I then use Gasgacinch around the intake ports. Then I lay the gaskets on, and repeat on top of the gasket, RTV around the coolant passages, and Gasgacinch around the intake ports. Thin layer of RTV on the front and rear rails, then lay the AM&P pan on. Then a bead of RTV front and rear on top of the pan. Lay the intake on. Torque the bolts to half torque. Wait for the RTV to set up and torque the rest of the way.

That's very helpful, thanks Larry! I'll do it exactly like that.

Looks slick, especially if engine is apart. Drill/tap 2 holes.

Me too, only I epoxied threaded bosses to the block while it was apart. I didnt like the idea of a nut and washer hanging above the crank.

I liked the AMP tray No chance of any thing coming loose and falling into engine.

Storm.. Nice job on motor You now have what I have but only with all the better parts available now that I did not have when Mine was built. your heads are ported more than mine so it should run well.

I now have 25 years on my original build so it will last a long time.

    Prediction..13.10 ET first time out.

I ran 13.31 in my best day out and ran some 13.40's later in the day. Air must have been damn good that day since I settled in at low 13.50 after that for a lot of years until I changed the trans and convertor. Slowed to 13.60 after that. But ran faster on my 125 shot of nitrous. Now I just run a 70-80 shot and run in the mid 12's

I am now looking to change the cam and see where that goes.

I'm getting somewhere between 3/16 and 1/4" gap measurement is that still ok to seal with RTV? Seems like a big gap.
