I then hooked batt power to the motor, to check clearances and sweep one more time. Perfect!!! The installed motor only protrudes from the indention in the firewall by 1/2", giaining me almost 2 inches over the stock wiper motor. Should have plenty of valve cover clearance for the TA covers. (my 350 with TA's doesnt clear, gotta lift the motor on the left side about 3 inches to remove the valve cover, absolutely hate that!)
Wow! Some very creative work going on here. I can't wait to see how things come together for you. Be sure and keep us posted on it. :TU:
What a great series!!! Thanks so much for sharing with everyone. I just got my '68 a few weeks ago from Cali and have been planning a column swap as one of my first projects. I'm planning on fabricating a custom "new car look" hood w/ functional low profile scoop to feed my 455. The stock hood will be modified; taking styling cues from the '68 gs hood and also from the late mustangs. I'm looking forward to posting the process. I'm an engineer/CNC programmer at a manufacturing facility that has CNC routers, turret presses, punch presses, shears, and a powder coating line all at my disposal.....this should be fun!
Whoa.....How about CNC'ing us some Billet 68/69 Grilles ?!?!?!?!?! I know you'd make ALOT of instant friends :TU: :beer
Whoa.....How about CNC'ing us some Billet 68/69 Grilles ?!?!?!?!?! hmmm......I have been toying with idea of fabricated sheet metal grilles. Unfortunately, my car (in the avatar) didn't come with a grille to measured up.
Alan i like the way you think. Skyman I am enjoying watching your project unfold and your ideas for the 68/69 cars.
69 skylark GS400 hybrid Sorry I haven't updated for a while. I finally fired my bodyman, and took it to another shop. (I'm out $1600, so things may go a little slower than planned) First off, I stripped the front suspension, and started reworking it. I am using my stock A-frames, and spindles with CCP Super Street disk brakes. I highly recommend them. They fit on stock drum spindles, come with aluminum hubs/stainless rotors (2 piece) and have HUGE vents between the hub/rotor. The kit comes complete with everything you need on the wheel side. To complement the kit, I bought a reman master from Autozone, and since I am putting rear disks on also, I sprung for the $60 on CCP's disk/disk proportioning valve. here are some pics
Re: stupid Don't worry, it's not just you. Posting pics has been a problem for that last day or 2. It's being looked into, hopefully resolved soon. Let me try one:
