Getting awful close. Should have no problem getting it ready by Martin. Ramrod's already in the corner for long term storage. :bglasses:
Dave.....wow...that thing looks awsome. :TU: :TU: I'm so glad the BBC Olds deal fell through. :beer Course I liked that car when I first saw it in your old house basement garage!
Yeah, I gotta admit I was disappointed when it sounded like the 442 was gone. My folks had a '65 and '66 442 before the Vette came along
BG, That does it, you are staying after school for not paying attention! :spank: Dave, Now you have gone and done it, getting a car fast enough to need a helmet for and having it nice enough to get comments like this to swell your cranium! And to top it off, the paint will reflect enough light that you will need sunglasses even after the sun goes down! :moonu: Great looking car. When does Jan get to drive? ou:
Technically, it is her car. Must have been a weaker moment, but I put it in her name years back. I think she would have refused to sign the title back when I was planning to trade for that nasty BBC W31. She'd look good in it and definitely knows how to drive it! 66's are special. Great year for all the GM A bodies. (Even the Buicks). Love that C pillar treatment, but horrible design for rust out in the rear window channel.
Congratulations Dave!!!!!! What a KILLER ride! Black car with redlines...............can I have a moment alone with that car??
WOW! very nice. had a high school buddy that had a post car 442, same year, black on black. had been a drag car since day one. when he got ti, it was bare metal with a BBC in it, 4 speed with straight cut geras, 5 somthing gears. very cool car. he sold it to his boss and i dont know whwere it ended up but turns out it was an original 400 tri power 4 speed post (sedan) 442! Mike
Thanks all, I'm pretty anxious to get it done. Then I can wait 5 months until I can get it out and have fun. Maybe I should just take off South in January with it to Birmingham and race it all winter down there. Come home when the temp gets above 50. (About May). :Brow:
Before you skip town....... Get those Redline Wide Oval's ordered, the car will thank you. In fact, you've come this far and made it sooooo nice, it MUST have a set of Red Lines :Smarty: :3gears: And don't feed us that lowly Retired Income line :Smarty: :TU:
442 Dave, If Bill Jenkins was right, you have to paint it white. I liked the looks of those cars MUCH better than the 68 up's. Frank
