    Awsome car

Awesome car Dave. The 1966 is my favorite of all the 442's. My first car in high school was a 1965 442 4-speed. I looked forever for a '66 but could not find one. Course, back in 1971 they didn't have the far reaching "for sale" puplications except for maybe Hemmings and I'm not sure I even know about them back then. Anyway AWSOME car Dave :TU: I can't wait to see it.

I'm not sure they had redlines in 66 as an option. I personally didn't care for them at the time. I ordered narrow white stripe radials on my Ramrod when it was new.

The tires on it are Firestone repops, with a white stripe turned inside. Wonder what it'd look like with them turned out and the original wire wheels that this came with? They sure look skinny, though. Like the M/T sportsmans on the red 68 on 8 1/2 inch wheels. Yeah...............

The Firestone Super Sports on it are new repops from a Vette (like Donny Brass's) Let's see how they work before I go throw another $650 at it. I can always "borrow" my Goodyear Polyglas from the Ramrod to see if they hook better.

Does Detweiler have redlines on that lime green W30? I can't recall.

There was one aftermarket tire manufacturer years ago that had red line on one side and white line on the other. My 60 Vette had a set on it. I used a magic markier and blacked it out.

Always liked blackwalls the best and let the wheel do the talking. The shinier, the better.

Next you'll be wanting to put steel wheels and dog dishes on it. Barf.Puke. My brother in law had an identical car to this (except his had A/C). he put dog dishes on it and I always thought it looked a little strange, being a loaded Cutlass rather than a plain Jane F85. Notice it didn't take the new owner (Flyin' buick) long to go to the SS1 repops. Nice. I patterned mine after a pic of Jim's car. :bglasses:

If you decide, Diamond Back Classics will make you whatever you want. Red Blue Gold on the correct tire for your need. Just down the road from me. Come on down for some winter gold, see me and Dr. Dan and pick up the tires. It is gonna get cold up there. Went to a show yesterday with Jim Lore. 79 degrees.

Last time I saw Detweilers 442 it had the Wide Ovals on them. Dave, since when do you get to drink beer with Gary Senisie of CSI New York? He may have put on a little weight since the season opener but I didn't know you had those connections!

My claim to fame with celebrities was mowing Dick Clark's lawn in high school for 2 tears. That's back when he had American Bandstand from Philadelphia. ...and yes, we had electricity and indoor plumbing back then. :beer Actually got him to bring his "road show" to our high school for a dance. The new dance they were pushing was the Watusi. We were still having fun with the Bristol Stomp!

That would be very interesting and great photo shoot. Maybe you can get your friend Linda Vaughn to pose with us? For sure, we'll have to get them together at one of the cruises or at Baker's here in Milford. You can't believe the cars there (especially GM's...oh darn...) :Dou:
