You could play the other side . Seller walked away with $77k after fees . CAr cost $30k the resto 50-60k? give or take 80-90k total and a year of tying up the cash etc. Wonder if hes gona run out and buy your car next?

No, I don't think he's going to run out and buy mine next. But I'm not selling mine at Barrett Jackson's either. If the seller decides to pay someone else to sell his car, that's his choice. Regardless of what he walks away with, the buyer still paid $95,700.
Buying expensive collector cars that are expensive to restore are not for the weakhearted and shallow pocketed people. That's for sure! Besides, you don't have to spend that much on a resto if you don't want to.
    Mine 2 cents.

I doubt it, he already has a bunch of other ones to restore first.

Can you tell me what makes this car worth $30,000? http://www.alltypeauto.com/show.php?id=22&category=&make=Buick&model=&srt=price
And your telling this seller his is worth $25,000

The market is very fickle on these cars now. I offered an almost perfect 10-10 70GSX 4spd for mid $50s except the underside needs work because it was driven since the last resto. No takers A couple thousand in underside resto and it will look new all over.

But I'm not doing it now. The market is tough. i'd rather drive it and enjoy it and resore it later. Lets take the opportunity to drive our cars, for those of us that have drivers versus garage queens.

Not trying to start any crap here, but I believe that GSX was for sale a couple of years ago for a much more realistic $16k if memory serves me. I think it was somewhere near NYC, and if I'm not mistaken, those were the same pics from the craigslist ad. Doesn't really matter, since it obviously hasn't sold either.
Dale, I've been watching your car on this board for a long time. I'm sure you wish you had a dollar for every time someone says "if only I had the money". Well, I'm gonna add to that list. I have a project 70 455 car that will probably never see the light of day. Yours is a real running and driving GSX that looks very rust free. If you can, stay close to your price. You'll find the right buyer (someone like me only with money) that can appreciate a real X.

I have seen pics of Dales car and it looks complete with minor issues. It is a driving car but needs of course by time a complete restoration. But compared to the junkyard that has been added in this post too, then the price is more than fair on Dales.

    Thanks Tim!
I have been trying to sell the GSX for a little while now, but it isn't the one for 16,000 a couple of years ago. I've had it for almost 4 years now and the guy I bought it from had it for over 7 years. I had to talk him into selling it. He didn't want to let it go. I wish I could of restored it like I had told him I was going to, but life throughs some real curve balls at you sometime!
Yes, if I had a dollar for everyone I talked to about the GSX, I probably wouldn't have to sell. No matter what my asking price has been, I have received a ton of interest. I was very close to having it sold for 41,000 before the economy took a dump, to some who saw it. Still a ton of interest, but people having hard time coming up with the money.
Anyway, thanks again for vote of confidence!

Yeah Dale, I realized that wasn't your's. I think someone bought it for the original asking price and is now just trying to make a fortune on it.

I'm not trying to knit pick your car, but I'm curious if it is the original paint or not? The stripes at the front of the fender look like they take an akward rise in location and then finish too close to the edge of the fender- but it may just be my eyes playing tricks on me. God knows I've spent way too much time in the last few weeks staring at GSX stripes.

For the record- if I wasn't a now broke 24 year old who just dropped 90k on his first house, it would be an honor to purchase a car like yours. For now I'll stick with my Skylark and be happy with it.

Forgive me if I missed it, what is the price now? I have been interested in this car for some time now, but shopping a bit more deliberate this time around.

Glad to see you got what you were hoping for, I hope the sale of my GSX at Las Vegas helps out the real market value of these cars. :TU: :TU:
