:af: Last night, my wife gets me up at 3 AM and says that two vehicles just left our laneway. I look out the window, and see two sets of lights going down the highway. I figure the basterds are stealing gas, or worse and run outside. All shops are still locked, and alarms not set off. Then I realize my blue and silver 3/4 ton work truck is not where I parked it. Cops were there in 7 minutes, but still no truck. Thats two trucks in two years! :af:

Sorry to hear about that. My truck was broken into and they smoked inside while going thru everything putting big piles of ashes on the leather seats. Such a personal violation. I hope they catch them and you get your truck back.

I was on Vancouver Island recently and watched the news about some street racers. They got caught racing in their fancy ricer cars. The police took the cars and crushed them in from of the racers. That will stop the street racing quickly.

It would not suprise me if it was someone who knows you. I'm sorry for your misfortune though. Thieves are the laziest people on earth. You work hard for your things and they just help themselves without a care. In my mind they're not to far from Murderers and Child Molesters. Hate Them !!! :spank: :spank: :spank: John.

    Jamie,
They tried to rip out the overhead dvd player. The dash was partly taken apart, anything of value they took, coins, dvds, cds, headphones, briefcase, the GPS navigational unit, and other things I forgot I had in there were taken too. The damage just to the interior was over $3000.

The truck has an alarm on it too. They broke a window and crawled in I guess, because I never the alarm go off. Good thing I wasn't delivering cars at the time, or they would have had me in the back seat to deal with!!!! :spank:

Nothing though like finding your car or truck gone like Pete.

Hey..... I know a Brian Stefina!!!!! Where were you last night????
Just got a call from the cops! The truck was seen leaving a crime scene with a lawn mower in the back. To quote the cops....... we were in "hot persuit" but they got away on us. I loved that truck, but it could'nt get out of it's own way! :Dou: :Do No: Unbelievable!

Sorry to hear that Peter; that's really awful. Rather than it being someone you know, is it possibly the same "engine" trouble from two years ago? Hope it turns out okay for you, but there's nothing worse than the feeling that the sanctity of your home or property has been violated. Good luck, Pal.

wanna hear the most whacked out 'stolen by a friend' story you've ever heard?

several years ago a friend of ours in circle track ( usually frequents Auburndale and Orlando FL tracks ) racing had an entire race car, trailer and a bunch of tools stolen from his shop.

he kept an eye out for several years but never did see hide nor hair of his stuff. then this spring one of his buddies on the east side of the state died. he goes over for the funeral, stops by the guys house and guess what he sees? you guessed it, there's his car, plain as day. this is on a Sunday. the detective in charge stops by Monday ... but overnight the thiefs' brother had 'snuck' over and stamped various pieces of the car and frame with ownership marks. the detective turns to him and says "all the identifying marks show that this is John Doe's car. you have no case." and sends him home. :Dou:

come to find out, this car has been raced over at New Smyrna for a couple of years now.

there's a lot of things that are cool about circle track racing. having all home built cages and custom frames and whatnot with no serial numbers can be a real kick in the teeth though.

the car is still in the possesion of the "friend's" brother and it's still being raced at New Smyrna. :blast:

I feeel your pain Pete! And aggravation. I have had my 2000 Jeep Cherokee Sport stolen twice from my driveway. First time they did $6500 worth of damage, the second time it was $3800. After it was recovered the first time, I had it towed from the impound yard to a collision shop across the road from our police department. I called our police detective bureau, and told them the Jeep was about 300 yards from where the detective was sitting if they wanted to go over and get fingerprints and any evidence. I was told by the detective: "You got the car back, we consider that 'Case Closed'. Unless someone was murdered IN the vehicle, or run over BY the vehicle, we are done with the ~investigation~." :Dou: :Dou: :af:

Hmmm, I never thought of that before: Stealing a truck so that you can go stealing lawnmowers. Isn't that a little like stealing a Brinks truck so you can go rob a bank? :Do No:

The police must have been using the LAPD rules for hot-pursuit: stay back at least a half mile, and block off any upcoming intersections so they can run every red light with impunity.

:Dou: You saw the lights leaving and you didn't GO after them ??????
I have to give you a lesson on driving over criminals!!!
Rights you have none ---- Now total out there car, beat the kids up , and hold them at gun point --Justice SERVED!!!!! :TU:

I hate thiefs !! They are only good for fertilizer- and I'll be the first in line to tell there grieving family!!! Just my opinion though..
