Not Original, but not Restored either....What is it?

:Do No: Not quite sure how to classify a car that has only really had the
exterior painted, underbody cleaned&painted, and engine compartment
    cleaned and painted?
Original interior with the exception of a new headliner.

Is this what a person would call restified?

... both come to mind.

week's, but with a baby due at any moment who know's :Do No:

Well, I guess I missed it on my assembly completion date by about 3 month's,
so I don't want to say I hope to have it running this weekend :Dou:

    Cosmetic restoration

    Tom:

I'd say it was a cosmetic restoration. Good luck with the little one.

    I'd call it "repainted."

I guess repainted is just as good as anything. This is about exactly the same situation as my 44,000 mile 66 442 except..............I've been working on mine for 10 years, has almost been "done" 3 times with different "themes". First was a street/strip car with a 455 and a Turbo 400, second was a Power tour cruiser with a 403 and a 200R4, then converted to a 4 speed, finally totally torn down for paint and going back together as a Pure Stock L69/W30 trak pak car. Just about there this time.

Wish I still had your ambition and energy, Tom. Keep it up!

I believe the term "restified" was coined for cars which have been both restored and modified (typically with a few aftermarket performance goodies). So I wouldn't call your car "restified."

I'm in a similar situation with my W-30. Previous owner repainted the body, rechromed the bumpers, replaced carpet, and rebuilt engine (but didn't detail the engine compartment). Nothing else. I've always referred to it as a "Mild Restoration," and I feel no guilt is using the term "original" liberally (virtually everything is numbers-matching).

I think that "mild restoration" would apply to your car as well. :TU:

I would call it a "body on restoration" with original interior, VS a "full blown restoration" with all new parts. Steve

Original w/ a repaint would be a good label. (Labels...We don't need no steekin' labels!! )

If you can get the Akron stance with that car on the start line, I am seeing 1.8 60's in your future! :spank:
