Yep, nominal (middle range) stock specs are 0.00125" for both. Yours are healthy for an engine prepped for a fair amount of "spirited driving". I run just a few more ten-thousandths than yours.

    Don't worry John,
My engine idles in gear at 750 RPM, and 14 psi of oil pressure with 10W/40 Red Line Synthetic. It is about 18 psi in neutral and 900 RPM. It is 65-70 at 5500 RPM and the pressure instantly goes up when I touch the gas off idle. I think your pressures are fine.

Thanks Larry. My idle fluctuates between 750 and 850 rpm in gear. and 850 or so in neutral. My numbers mirror yours, almost exactly. If Devon says that my numbers are fine, and you are comfortably running them, it's time to get my head out of my A-- and start enjoying!:)

I do so much appreciate everyones help. Happy Father's Day to all.

    Regards, John.:beer

    Romy,

I don't know where they are located in Rockford. I bought it from a distributor of theirs, closer to me.

Smith Oil is the company in Rockford. The number is 815-229-8100. Ask for Roger Breeland. That is who I talked to. They will either sell to you direct, or steer you to one of their dealers, as they did with me. I hope that helps.

    Regards, John.

    Anthony,

I will try to get some video, on my antiquated "high 8" video recorder. Problem is, then I have to get it on to the computer, or you tube. Uncharted waters for me.:idea2: I am sure I will get there at some point.

    Regards, John.:TU:

    John,

Just out of curiosity, where did you go to buy it? I live right outside of Chicago (Berwyn) and Rockford is a bit far. Anything closer would be a bonus. Otherwise I'll just call them on Monday.

    Thanks!:TU:

    Romy,

I bought it out of Waukegan, close to the Wisconsin border and not far from the lake. What weight are you looking for? I bought both 10W30 and 20W50. I was and still may mix them together, for a 15W40. Right now, I am running the 10W30 with no issues. I would be willing to sell you the 20W50, if that is what you were looking for.

I travel the Chicagoland area for business, we could meet somewhere. I am sure my source would exchange it for me, but if you need it, it could be more convienent for you? If you want the number of the place I got it from, let me know, I will P.M. it to you.

    Regards, John.

This is a GREAT news! The long lost Kendall GT-1 race oil, new owners and new name. Same great product.

    John,

If you wouldn't mind sending me the number, that'd be great! I'd take that 20W-50 off of you if you don't want it. I was looking to get a case of their 30W break in oil as well as two cases of the 20W-50 stuff. Please pm me the number when you get a chance and maybe we could also figure out a good place to meet!

    Thanks!

Yep, its the old Kendall refinery. It's now called America Refining. I work for the railroad and worked that local last year at this time. The tracks are still called Kendall 1,2,3 and 4. The oil is pumped from local wells (there's a pump jack behind the drive-thru menu at McDonald's) and wells in Ohio (that comes by railcar). So your getting the good Pennsylvania grade stock. I don't know about them using older formulas. I do know that they make a lot of motor oil for a lot of different companies. I've been in their packaging plant and have seen several different labels. They also make synthetics there. I never tried buying any of their oil because I figured I'd have to buy a pallet or a truck load. I guess I should've tried. I do have a pretty big truck.

if Brad Penn is made by Kendall (I think thats what i just read in a post prior), then is all Kendall oil just as good?

I was working for a place that had the over-head oil-line jiffy-lube type setup, and all they pumped out of the drums was Kendall.

    Same stuff?

    Nope.

Kendall brand oils are no longer refined in the same place (Bradford, PA) as the Brad Penn line. Conoco-Phillips is now marketing the Kendall line and it's not the same animal anymore.
