    Just bought her book!
I'll give it a shot, if not I have Grandkids!

Thank you so much! Please post a review &/or ask your Grandkids to. Nothing inappropriate in it for kids.

She hired professional editors & had to learn about getting a ISBN #, submitting to Library of Congress, the publishing process, etc. (handled everything herself which is typical of her personality) plus learned how to format it for print/electronic on Adobe In-Design which she also did all herself. One of her friends did the cover art (she insisted on paying her as she wanted to be able to be picky & I think turned out great) & made the map and a few of her friends were beta readers. It really came out looking very professionally done.

I'm working on a book myself and am so glad she went through this process 1st!

Thanks! She has plans for more. My son is also an excellent (probably better) writer & is working on a book.

Very interesting. I have degrees in mechanical engineering & business management both with a focus on manufacturing & wound up owning a small manufacturing co. There's some small aspect of lean/six sigma/etc. in what I'm working on now - I'll tell you a little more about when we meet up in BG.

Also interesting on the '71 GSX! Pics/details?

I am hoping that his work schedule will allow him to have some time off to bring his car to the Nationals this year. He is know as Dr. Phil and has a consulting company offering lean manufacturing advice and production solutions.

looking forward to meeting up with you at the Nationals.

I hope she does a sequel! Keep the fantasy environment/culture and build a new world - like Lord of the Rings, Game of Thrones, Harry Potter, etc!

    How's her book selling?

I've been working on a SciFi book for a few years now and am closer to getting it ready to self-publish. I know I won't get rich but I've read 100s of stories and seen 1,000s of movies and thought, I can do better than that!

I assume slowly - It's starting from scratch with a marketing effort. I did it w/a business & it's tough. By all rights, an author is supposed to build some following prior to publication and she didn't want to. I've done some of that, but thus far only on Twitter (err... "X") - I have about 1000 followers although have also gotten some very good exposure (e.g. Mark Cuban liked one of my posts). I'll do it on more platforms as I get closer but it's exhausting. Of course you know the magnitude of what I'm working on:).

Congrats, Dano. My brother Tom was also a Chemical Engineer (MIT), and before and during the Moon landings he worked for the Reaction Motors division of Morton-Thiokol. One of the projects that he worked on were the thrusters on the Lunar Lander. He found it to be very interesting work and wound up with several patents (all of which were assigned to Morton-Thiokol).
