Yep when they first came out with June race dates it sold out in a day then it was cancelled due to birds nesting lol They dropped fee from $150 to 50 this time,Im checking seat belt requirements
Hopefully we can continue to have a strip on the island now that E-town is gone, its a real PIA trooping down to Atco.
The couple putting this together are the same people that ran the track down here called Green Cove Dragway or GCD just south of jacksonville. It was one of my fav tracks until the city council shut it down.. Pete and Maree are a class act and know how to operate a race track. I hope they do very well up there. Heres a pic at the old GCD
This is a complete different group. That was scrambul w a dream. Did not look promising. This is Pete Scalzo and his partner Tom, These guys have ran drag racing facilities before and are bringing real equipment. Timing, lights, scoreboards etc….. Real drag racing. He has been petitioning Riverhead town board over a dozen years. He got Thru to Mrs. Aguilar who now runs the board and is willing to give us all a chance to prove ourselves. She herself will be racing opening day. We are blessed now and we have to show respect to the neighbors outside the gates. Look forward to seeing all the great muscle cars representing and racing.
