Nick, The staggers in the stripes look perfect. Hope the original paint GSX fender I loaned you helped with the stripe alignment. I bet Ken is excited. Duane PS. Nice valve cover decal.
Nick- The hood looks great! Better than ever! When I was a kid I used to polish the crap out of those stripes because they wouldn't shine! I thought the sun had faded them as I never saw another GSX around to compare to. I can't wait to see the rest of it striped and yes I am very excited! :beers2: :TU:
Is it just the picture, or is the instrument cluster missing the black around the woodgrain???? o No:
I don't really know about what you are referring, but I can tell you this: if it is supposed to be there, it's there.
"The staggers in the stripes look perfect."....................."There's GOT to be a joke in there somewhere." No joke, You can see from the mask how both the red & black stripes will have a slight stagger once painted. This recreates the effect caused when the factory overlapped their paper masks when originally striping the cars. Factory paint cars will have this stagger over the rear wheels and at the mid point of the rear spoiler. A few of the latest "Concours style" restorations, including mine, have done this. It's nice to see attention to detail taken to this level. Some of the top Chevelle restorers have been doing this for years on their high end restorations. Duane
Yup I've seen others that came back from the plater's with the rest of the black painted but that black missing.
Post #293, 5th pic down shows the original interior and you can see the black behind the woodgrain. That's one hell of a catch, Nick!
OK... comin' down to the wire: <a href="http://s253.photobucket.com/albums/hh41/1badriv/GSX5/more3/?action=view¤t=DSC02000.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i253.photobucket.com/albums/hh41/1badriv/GSX5/more3/DSC02000.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a> <a href="http://s253.photobucket.com/albums/hh41/1badriv/GSX5/more3/?action=view¤t=DSC01999.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i253.photobucket.com/albums/hh41/1badriv/GSX5/more3/DSC01999.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a> <a href="http://s253.photobucket.com/albums/hh41/1badriv/GSX5/more3/?action=view¤t=DSC01997.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i253.photobucket.com/albums/hh41/1badriv/GSX5/more3/DSC01997.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a> <a href="http://s253.photobucket.com/albums/hh41/1badriv/GSX5/more3/?action=view¤t=DSC01996.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i253.photobucket.com/albums/hh41/1badriv/GSX5/more3/DSC01996.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a> <a href="http://s253.photobucket.com/albums/hh41/1badriv/GSX5/more3/?action=view¤t=DSC01994.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i253.photobucket.com/albums/hh41/1badriv/GSX5/more3/DSC01994.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a> <a href="http://s253.photobucket.com/albums/hh41/1badriv/GSX5/more3/?action=view¤t=DSC01993.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i253.photobucket.com/albums/hh41/1badriv/GSX5/more3/DSC01993.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a> <a href="http://s253.photobucket.com/albums/hh41/1badriv/GSX5/more3/?action=view¤t=DSC01992.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i253.photobucket.com/albums/hh41/1badriv/GSX5/more3/DSC01992.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a> <a href="http://s253.photobucket.com/albums/hh41/1badriv/GSX5/more3/?action=view¤t=DSC01991.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i253.photobucket.com/albums/hh41/1badriv/GSX5/more3/DSC01991.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a> <a href="http://s253.photobucket.com/albums/hh41/1badriv/GSX5/more3/?action=view¤t=DSC01990.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i253.photobucket.com/albums/hh41/1badriv/GSX5/more3/DSC01990.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a> <a href="http://s253.photobucket.com/albums/hh41/1badriv/GSX5/more3/?action=view¤t=DSC01989.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i253.photobucket.com/albums/hh41/1badriv/GSX5/more3/DSC01989.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
