Heard from Nick last night. He was rowing through the gears on the open road! Other than a brief summer in '04? '05? where it ran like crap and looked like crap, that hasn't been done since 1981/2. He had a few items pop up that require attention, but when I heard that it was a driven car last night I had trouble falling asleep!
That's great Ken!!! When do you suspect you will be taking the helm for the first time? I can imagine the excitement of driving that car again in this condition is going to be overwhelming! Nick sure does 'em perty, huh? Please have someone take pictures of you so we can see your face when you take off for the first time....that's called VIAGRA for your smile muscles in your face...and don't bother consulting a physician when it lasts longer than four hours! MarkO :3gears:
I have enjoyed watching this thread and seeing the progress. I am getting ready to resume my 71 GSX tribute project soon and this is very motivating for me. Car looks great, doing a great job. Your car reminds me of a '71 Lime mist X, 455 auto, black interior, no vinyl top car that was for sale locally around the late nineties time frame for very reasonable money.....what was I thinking.o No: I didn;t like the color much at the time, thought it was ugly. ??? Looks really nice when it is fresh though. Will we get to see this car in BG by chance? Nice car, can't wait to see the finished product. Congrats Ken and enjoy!:3gears: Steve
These will probably be among the last updates I will post. Pretty much all done. When it is complete in a few days I'll post the final pics and pics from my picnic. <a href="http://s253.photobucket.com/albums/hh41/1badriv/stage1/?action=view¤t=DSC02019.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i253.photobucket.com/albums/hh41/1badriv/stage1/DSC02019.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a> <a href="http://s253.photobucket.com/albums/hh41/1badriv/stage1/?action=view¤t=DSC02022.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i253.photobucket.com/albums/hh41/1badriv/stage1/DSC02022.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a> <a href="http://s253.photobucket.com/albums/hh41/1badriv/stage1/?action=view¤t=DSC02023.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i253.photobucket.com/albums/hh41/1badriv/stage1/DSC02023.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a> <a href="http://s253.photobucket.com/albums/hh41/1badriv/stage1/?action=view¤t=DSC02025.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i253.photobucket.com/albums/hh41/1badriv/stage1/DSC02025.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a> <a href="http://s253.photobucket.com/albums/hh41/1badriv/stage1/?action=view¤t=DSC02026.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i253.photobucket.com/albums/hh41/1badriv/stage1/DSC02026.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a> <a href="http://s253.photobucket.com/albums/hh41/1badriv/stage1/?action=view¤t=DSC02027.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i253.photobucket.com/albums/hh41/1badriv/stage1/DSC02027.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a> <a href="http://s253.photobucket.com/albums/hh41/1badriv/stage1/?action=view¤t=DSC02029.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i253.photobucket.com/albums/hh41/1badriv/stage1/DSC02029.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a> <a href="http://s253.photobucket.com/albums/hh41/1badriv/stage1/?action=view¤t=DSC02030.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i253.photobucket.com/albums/hh41/1badriv/stage1/DSC02030.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a> <a href="http://s253.photobucket.com/albums/hh41/1badriv/stage1/?action=view¤t=DSC02031.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i253.photobucket.com/albums/hh41/1badriv/stage1/DSC02031.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
Hope ya' got updated stickers for those plates Ken. Would be a shame to be so far & not be able to drive it cause it's not registered. Know what I mean Vern??? Oh, & insurance too!!!!! Lots & lots of insurance!!!!!! Tom T.
Hey Yards, "Keep your stinking paws off my mufflers you damn dirty Ape!" Couldn't resist, Nick's comment reminded me of Charleton Heston. Tom, she's registered (did that yesterday). Yards is gonna take some pics over the next few days and then I'll have a conversation with hagerty about about raising the agreed upon value. :TU:
Not my fingerprints. I never touched them. Your punch list might seem daunting, but it is all little things that won't take you long once you get rolling. If you need help, just let me know.
