My friend Jay Overley (like anyone will know him) was shot last night in front of his family during a robbery at his fireworks stand. I understand 2 guys with guns came in at closing and pointed guns at them and took merchandise and all the money. Please pray for the family and his quick healing. And that the culprits are caught. The shot went thru his leg and shattered his Femor? bone. Im not sure which one that is forsure but he is in traction right now. I also wanted to say that he is a believer and so are all of his family, but those boys ages 10 and 5 will never forget what they saw. Jay is also my Karate sensei and just for the record to use Karate you must use your head first. He had to do nothing as they threatened his wife by holding a gun to her head. It just goes to show you how short life is.. What a thing to be woke up with at 6am.....:sleep: More info later when I hear.
Messy as iit shatters the bone and complicates the surgery to remove the pieces. It can interrupt the blood supply. He will be pinnned and in a cast for a while. Hopefully justice will prevail.
Pin is in and he is stable. They have him drugged up and sleeping now but wont be walking anytime soon. All is better but not good yet. I along with other students from his acadamy have his kids so that his wife can rest now!!!:TU:
Mike, I'm so sorry to hear about your friend, and that his family had to witness and go through that. I can imagine the fear and anxiety as someone puts a gun to your wife's head. They are in my prayers, Mike.
Well I just got home from seeing him. All is better he is eating and having level (morphine induced) coversations. My wife and I had his kids all afternoon took them to the 4th BBQ we were all going to attend anyway and the kids were distracted from the whole thing all day. Both of them were asleep by the time we made it back to the Hospital. As I am now ready to shower myself just keep the family in your prayers for healing both physical and mentally. Thanks:TU:
That is such a damn shame. I am sorry to hear that. People out there can be such animals. Shooting people over fireworks. I hope he gets better.

Holy cow!!!! They have 2 more in custody and they are looking for a 5th person who cased out the stand!!! WOW !!!

Thats the best you can do............. I guess you have never had someone shot that you were friends with. Or howabout this the 6 year old son was 5 feet away from his dad as he was shot. Would you be upset about it? I would guess you would be in the same place I am.:spank:
actually yes Actually yes, I had a very close friend shot and killed in a random shooting in a post office in North Carolina a few years back(24 year old that had just finished his Doctorate), so I know what your feeling - just surprised by your comment as you preach against the sins of others so regularly.
