Well, plans change, and so I am selling my switch-pitch turbo 400 short tailshaft transmission and the PAE torque converter I bought to use with it. Both items are used, bought from V8Buick members. I have not used either of these items, and the trans will probably need to be gone through. The converter was used for a short time by the previous owner, but was removed when he decided he didn't like how his car drove on the street with the higher stall speed. It works fine, just too much converter for his car. The parts are located in Fort Scott, KS 66701, and the price is $450 for the trans and the converter. I would prefer they be picked up here, but I am willing to ship them at the buyers expense. The torque converter is boxed up and can be shipped via UPS or Fed-ex, but the transmission will probably need to be shipped on a LTL truck to a shipping address with a loading dock. Thanks for the response guys. I really want to sell them both together if possible, but if I can't get them sold that way I will consider splitting them up. Stan, you are first in line for the trans & converter.
Just a quick update. I pulled the S/P 400 trans out from under the bench, and it has the code letters BT-67 followed by 5 or 6 numbers stamped on it. The larger printed code letters are worn off the tag. The trans is dirty from being in storage, and the dipstick tube is rusted and broken where it goes into the trans, and the dipstick is missing. I have another 400 turbo with a good dipstick and tube I can pull out and send with this trans if you don't have one. The original converter is there, but the outside is rusty. I also pulled the PAE converter out of the box, and it looks like new. I will try to post some pictures tomorrow Later, Randy

Stan, I weighed the trans and the converter tonight, and it looks to be about 200lbs, which will probably be closer to 250 or 275 lbs by the time I get a skid under it and some plywood around it. I will have a price for the shipping tomorrow.
Stan, I have some numbers for you in regards to shipping the S/P 400 trans and PAE converter to you in Canada. First thing is I will have to use an import export broker to get it to you north of the border (I don't know yet what the costs will be for that). The skid/crating will cost $35, the shipping itself will be $280. I think we could cut down on alot of the customs paperwork and some of the shipping cost if you have somewhere to ship it in Buffalo, NY. If the converter is boxed and ready to ship, why not separate it? o No: It's not like they're "life" mates or somethin like that.:laugh: Please, don't get me wrong. You have every right to sell whatever as you see fit. I'm just trying to figure out why this trans and converter need to stay together. If I didn't have a fresh trans in my car, I would have bought the whole package instantly. thanks,
It's not so much that they stay together, I just want them both out of the shop so I can get on with other things. If I sell just the converter, then I have less money for my other projects. I have yet to hear from one person that wants the used S/P 400 trans without the PAE converter.
