Great looking 56 mike, good luck with her. I hope mine will be on the road scraping before to long ( I'm on a 5 year plan).
Thanks,Tom. I actually have restored a number of cars, and have even done my own convertible tops, headliners, seat covers, etc. And even worked for a restoration shop that a friend of mine owns, a couple of years ago. But I have never gotten into paint and body work until now. My paint job isn't perfect, by any means, but it is good enough for a car that will be driven a lot, which I intend to do. I appreciate your compliments. As Elvis would say: Thankyouverrymuch- :bglasses:
Hey, Judd. Is your car painted-White roof, Apricot body above the spear, and Bittersweet below the spear? The '56 model 43 I saw in a local salvage yard, that inspired my choice of Apricot for the main body of my '55, was painted white on the roof, Apricot on the main body, and Laurel green below the side trim. Pretty interesting colors back then. eh? Very fifties, very cool, in my opinion. And, I love your car! -Zach
Zach You got the colors right on! I was going to ask if yours was Tahiti Coral & black the Apricot really looks different with the black. Love your 55 (Christina). LOL I saw this and loved it at Cruisin the Coast this year.
That's a sweet ride! I guess these cars don't always need to be two or three colors to look cool. But I like mine flashy! --Z--
RE: Buick Wire Wheels Hey Fellow Buick Enthusiast's I Just LOVE those Buick Kelsey-Hayes 40 Spoke Wire Wheels. It's like a woman wearing a Diamond Neckless and Earings. Just IMHO. I could be Wrong, but somehow I don't think so. Tom Gallagher :TU: :TU: :bglasses: :3gears: :beer
Tom They would look good but I'm worried about the amount of work to keep them clean and rust free on my driven car. The wide white walls are hard enough to keep clean! LOL
Man, that '56 Special is SWEET! Yeah, I want those wire wheels too, when I get the $$$$$. I think Kanter has reproductions of those. -Zach.
Re: Kelsey-Hayes 40 Spoke Wire Wheels Hey Guy's It is my understanding that the new Reproductions can be purchased with Stainless Steel Spokes. I have seen some origionals on e-bay. most have to be re-chromed. I have no idea what that would cost. Tom Gallagher :TU: :TU: :3gears: :beer
here is my buick it was my dream car growing up and I finally talked my grandpa into letting it go. 57 Roadmaster 75.
no he had it since 1988 I bought it last year. I have just rebuilt the motor and painted the engine compartment. It needs alittle work but otherwise I have no complaints.
Hey There! jj22ee, That '57 2 door Roadmaster, Is One Fine "Sweet" Ride for Sure. Is the Roadmaster a 70 or 75 Series. In any case There weren't That many '57 2 door hardtops made. And You are quite a lucky man to own such a fine example. That Charcoal Gray Color is Absolutely Georgeous! What is the Name of the Color and Number? Keep that Front End well Greased. Every car has it's "Achilles Heal" with the '57 it happens to be the Front Suspension. And Re-Build Kits are quite Expensive compaired to "Other" Years. I would be a Proud Man to have that Parked in My Driveway. :TU: :3gears: :beer Tom Gallagher
Hey There JUDD! You Really have acquired Quite the Collection of Buick Pictures. All of them "Fine" Examples of OUR favorate Subject :TU: :3gears: :beer Tom Gallagher
