    That’s not bad:rolleyes::rolleyes:

Especially GM, they have more swooshes, slices, and slits on their newer models. It’s like someone with a samurai sword designed them:rolleyes:
Ford is a bit better in this regard.
Dodge is much more restrained, plus I like there frames better than GM’s, they seem more robust plus they’re painted:cool:

They came out with the four cylinder turbo a few years ago, only had one in the body shop I was working at, never hear anything about them

NOT uncommon when your hit low like that from a car verses truck meeting, a lot of the pricey mechanicals get taken out

I also noticed Dodge has a two piece tailgate?????
The smaller “gate” is on the right half, what advantages does that provide???
Are they trying to keep up with GM and the stereo they have in their tailgate????
    GIMMICKS GIMMICK GIMMICKS!
Trucks are made to WORK, ok make them comfortable and such, but lay off on the fluff:rolleyes:

Agree. Sure the little bells and whistles are nice but not really that important when ya use your truck for doing real truck stuff. No the soccer mom does not need a 3/4 ton 4 wheel drive to go to the store or pick up the kids at school. Around here everyone drives a truck. High school parking lot is filled with them. Funny to see a 30's mommy trying to maneuver a 4 door 8' bed truck in and out of a parking space at wally world. Theres a line of them a block long every school day on the sidewalk leading up to the elementary to pick up the kiddos at 2:30. All idling away 5$ a gal fuel for 30 - 40 mins while they play with their phones.

My first and only new car was a 2000 Monte Carlo, just the standard model.
That thing for just base equipment did more than I ever needed it to do, the radio I never did figure out all the features and I didn’t give a crap, it played cassettes and FM stereo, sometimes the FM Reception wasn’t all that great.
The thing SUCKED in the snow, too low to the ground, tires too wide for the weight of the car,
It did go 188,000 miles plus down to Kentucky to be traded in on the wife’s Tahoe, got 500 on the trade for a rusty hunk of crap, the ‘08 Tahoe I like tho, even the LS is nice, rides like the old mid 70’s GM full size, but handles MUCH better, plus 4x4 if yah need it:cool:
I like things simple, and purposeful.

while I absolutely love 67-72 Chevy trucks and consider them the best ever, for a truck one would actually own and drive daily I would have to say your series Chevy truck probably IS The best to date………

Ya, I fully plan on souring the SW states and start collecting rust free 2000-2006 1/2 ton Suburbans.. Need a couple of them, as they are my winter Vehicle.. Looking for ones with blown transmissions or engines, but rust free bodies.

Don't plan on driving anything else as long as I am around. Have the 3/4 ton now for towing and summer driving, as well as the 97 Riv if gas stays this crazy in price.. On the trucks I can keep them running mechanically, but the rust eats them alive.. My 2000 has 435K on it, and still runs like a champ.. but I stopped fixing all the little issues here a while back, since the body was literally rotting off of it.

    Yep rust SUCKS!
Mileage don’t mean squat to me, if the body and chassis is rust free, then it’s worth fixing mechanicals:D

The only issue with these was that at least in New England (home of the salty road) they were serious rusters.

I have a 2019 Silverado 1500 double cab. 6.75 ft bed 5.3 V8 355hp, 8 speed auto, towing package, All star package. It gets me a best so far of 26.6 mpg. The front has a lot of aerodynamic styling on how it funnels air around the front of the vehicle. You can feel the difference between the 2019 Silverado and the 2000 Sierra pick up I own when I drive up windy mountain passes that I frequently drive through. The 2019 gets much better mpg than the 2000 Sierra and it is much more comfortable inside. The downside is sometimes finding parking in certain cities that I frequent here in California.

Don't discount looking in the SE States as well. There are plenty of clean ones all around here.

I was about to say the same thing. As long as it didn’t pull a fishing boat to the coast or live near the beach.

Nothing beat the early square bodies in my area for rot. The '73-'77 trucks went so fast, most had a homemade flat bed of wood after 2-3 winters. I used to hear they bought impure foreign steel.
