What is your favorite? Stock rallyes on a Buick? Or custom wheels? Still debating which way to go o No:
I like either, depending on the aftermarket rim chosen. Some look really great on our cars, some not so good.
I prefer the stock Rallyes, but it does depend on the car. What is really neat is how the Buick Rallyes look so good on other makes.
Assuming the car you're putting them on is the one pictured in your avatar, it looks very stock to me. Why would you want to spoil the look with the wrong wheels? I say go with the stock wheels. They look great all painted up like new and so shiny! :Brow:
I love aftermarket. You always have the stock ones to throw on if you get tired of the new ones or if they go out of style. If you have the cash, do it. I have a set on one of my cars. Everyone has an opinion on them when they see it. Some like them and others don't. I paid for them and I love them!!!!!!!! My stock Rallys are in the corner of the shop too. Will never part with them. Bottom line, it yours and do with it what you want to. Good luck on your decision.
I perfer the custom wheels. You can get a larger wheel and tire size to get more rubber to the road or get a different look. I will never toss my originals though. Might want to go back to them someday if I go to all original. My .02 Mark
i love stock rallys, but my crome was getting bad on them so i went to centerline outlaws, outlaws i think are the only after maket style that looks good on the old cars. now that they make the 15x8 rallys, im getting those next year
I like centerlines for aftermarket, if you have hot rodded it. I have some tta wheels (rear) that I'm going to put on my 71GS . Regular ralleys for the resto look.
you could always go the trendy route right now...big custom rims that look stock. Ever since I saw this car: I thought these stock looking rims in 18" looked cool if you had the stance to get it. Here is what they look like on a buick a-body: and a few other cars: By the way, these wheels are made by wheel vintiques and i got the pics from their "car show" section on the site. Here is the link: http://www.wheelvintiques.com Just remember, its your car in the end it is what you think looks best that matters.
they look the best on the mustang. i hate em on the buick and that early charger at the bottom. i personally like weld wheels.
Our Ralley wheels, with the correct caps, identify our cars as BUICKS and help cut down on comments like "nice olds" or "what year is your shovelle???? :spank: Personally, I think they are beautiful wheels, so the custom widths available from many vendors for quite reasonable prices make the decision easy for me.... but, you know, opinions are like :moonu: holes, everybody has one :TU:
wheel options I show my skylark with the original rallies for orininal restored class, and modified class with crager ss mags with 23560r14s . the car looks great either way.Must admit it does look meaner with the cragers.
opinions I just love my 17x8 Cragar SS wheels on my 68 Custom. I think that with the right stance, big wheels look great. (not tooooo big though) I still have my ralleys too.
WHAT GOES AROUND, COMES AROUND. How about a set of "STOCK" buick 18" wire rims. They weren't thinking about pimping back then. 1932
Rims I slipped a set of 15" WG rims on my ride. I think Buick wheels rule. Of course if you are going custom, you might as well put on what you like. Grant Nelson OreGS:Comp:
Stock ? Grant I love your car!! I have a 69 in silver mist that is 100% stock and have been having a hard time deciding what kind of rim to choose ...stock 15x7 or a set of customs? If I go stock ralley 15x7 what's the perfect tire for 68/69 all the same size? What size do you run? I don't mean to highjack the thread!
