I think it’s the dog days of summer Mark. Right now I am washing out my boat and also spraying myself off with the hose at the same time just to keep from sweating to death. Can’t do that when you’re working on the car.
I switched my vacuum advance to manifold from ported and plan on taking for a drive today and report back on the improvement
Waiting on UPS to bring my gaskets and bolts so I can get this timing cover job behind me. Tracking says tomorrow by 7PM. We will see. It's a lot more fun driving the convertible than wrenching on it.
What are you waiting for Jeff, go get one before there all gone! Been a few nice rides for sale here lately.
Test drove the 72 gs 350. No noticeable difference in performance off the line with manifold vacuum advance. Also changing trans gasket and filter today. Satin clear on the pan.
I'm working on my car almost every day after work, really trying to get it running/driving before September 30th. That's why I haven't had time to update my build thread! Current project is finishing up the floor rust repair and welding in the bucket seat conversion!
Been driving mine off and on every couple of days. Damn sweet motor for a stocker and sounds awesome as hell. Headed up to a car show Sunday and got some guys coming in to help celebrate my birthday. we will take the 455 MGB-GT with us. It is the understated one of the two. Out of the 4 cars 3 are Buick powered as one of the guys is driving his 300 powered roadster in and the 4th has a very radical SBC powered Spitfire built on a Vette chassis. Good company for me to be keeping without a doubt. The stroker 300 is complete except for the new underslung blower intake but now that I've finished up the gray and black water tanks for my bus conversion I can get back on that. Good chance that engine can go in the car next spring. It will be my 6th custom intake and 3rd one for a blower on a SBB engine so I am expecting good results.
Now that my new car is in my garage instead of a mile and a half away I’ll be getting started on the re-wiring project next month after vacation. Also setting up the dyno session.
