Been patiently waiting for my new 350 build and 2004r conversion for my’69. Hoping to see it dynoed next month and then I have the winter to get it installed and ready for Spring. Also had a 4.10 gear 10 bolt built that’s already installed. Pulled the old motor out in February 2020, can’t wait to get it back on the road!
When I took the oil pump apart to swap into the replacement cover what I'd assumed was a parts store thrust plate turned out to be a TA booster plate. And of course the gasket tore pulling things apart. I called TA when they opened yesterday to order the gasket and a shim kit. Now I'm waiting on UPS (again).
You talking about the gasket between the thrust plate and pump cover? If so I’d order like 5, keep 4 “in stock” for the future, that’s what I did years ago, I think I used ‘em all, they’re a “unique” gasket being it’s for a thrust/booster plate.
I probably should have ordered a spare to keep on the shelf. I guess I'll have to find something else I "need" from TA and have a few tossed on that order.
Have Tim at TA put the gaskets in an envelope with a stamp on it so you won't have to pay $37 for shipping from AZ..
I got this one coming in a USPS small flat rate box after pleading my case to not require UPS with a signature this time. I know I drive a Buick, but I'm not retired and able to sit home all day waiting on the big brown truck to show up.
Tim was the guy who answered the phone at TA and would talk you through ordering parts, very helpful dude!
AHHHH ok, yes I’ve spoken to him Many times, he retired? I was under the impression he was like late 30’s early 40’s
