I like the idea of a Texas Bop Nationals (big B, little o, little p just 'cause we started it  ) Pity I can't bring the Ranchero... :error:
Frank, you bringing your Wildcat? The 2NABOT gets lonely with so few other 'real-sized' cars to hang with...
I plan to. I'm thinking about getting a new top and that 200 mile drive in the Texas spring may be just the impedus I need to unass the 1100 bux it's gonna cost...
I hate to be a d!ck here, but it is SO not the same thing!!! In bracket racing you may be hitting the brakes to run what YOU KNOW YOU CAN RUN. Index racing is all about some arbitrary index that you may or may not be able to run.
I'd like to see the classes broken down like David originally suggested, only have them be bracket classes, not index classes. If there are enough cars to make a field have something like a 10.90 and 9.90 index for the quicker guys
My question is why would it not be best to bracket race? In other words, what is the advantage to index racing over bracket racing? And that's just for conversation, because I don't care either way.
:Brow: I don't want to ruin the event by taking all the prize money.....so....the '88 Blazer will sit in the pits and just look mean. You all consider yourselves lucky and don't hammer me too much...if you do I may change my mind and put it on the track!:3gears: (Note: the smoke and tire marks coming off the last Smilie is more than my S10 would ever do!). Phil---thanks for popping up over on ROP also...I think this will draw some Olds to the event. Thanks for your hard work and persistence Phil, David and Frank. BTW Phil---you can't call me and harass me about this response as once again, it rained hard and my phone is out. I'll shout at you on my cell. AT&T SUCKS!!! Maybe you guys should stick with bracket form..as that's what most people are used to anyway. However, I won't vote as THE BLAZER would dominate the event in either form you pick---I don't want to be unfair and influence the voting here. (LMAO)
Yes it is within the rules. However if you win you have to have a tech inspection like the pure stock guys do it.... we need to make sure your not cheatin!
Wellllll.......ok, I won't bring it. I just know I'd win my index though, if only 'cause it'd be the only one in the 20-30 second group! :bglasses: (you haven't heard power until you've heard a Ford Inline Six making the 185/13 tires beg for mercy...)
I dont care, index or bracket... My question is: Will I have someone to race against ? not many cars can do a 23 second quarter. Of course after replacing 2 pistons, maybe I will be quicker.
Bill, I defenitly understand the situation. that not all cars are 23 and 17 second cars. There will be a few but I doubt many would be in these classes. Please vote and let us know your opinion. This is our event. :TU: Sorry for the guy who gets to run you. Say someone has a 9 second car in order to bracket race with them they will have to wait about 14 seconds. thats a Psychological advantage if I have ever heard of one... :3gears:
Here is the Google Map... it should have plenty of room! http://www.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&q=prairie+hill+TX&ie=UTF8&z=13&om=1&iwloc=addr
