What did you do to your Buick today?

Just out of curiosity, how old were the tires that you exchanged? I bought a new set in 2017 and I have never been happy with them. It took 97,000 hours to get the blue off, and then they turn yellow in about 16 minutes.

I do think it's not what I asked for but I think it's what I asked for.

I believe I have a color that I can NEVER match? Maybe that revision date is the problem?

Ridiculous, I know, but: took apart my door jamb switches, cleaned them all up functionally & cosmetically, reassembled, made the lil gaskets that go between them & the jamb. Put on shelf for later.
Also finished up door speaker hole #2.

Anything to procrastinate finishing my header reflow. :p

The front tires (245er) had a production date week 16/2019 and I bought them in 2020. The first set of rear tires (295er) which have been exchanged were produced week 18/2018 and I purchased them in 2019. The rears were exchanged last year. One tire with production date week 12/2019, the other week 06/2021. Guess what, the one from 2019 turned yellow again, the one from 2021 stayed shiny white. So I claimed to have one rear to be exchanged again.
It looks like sometime in 2021 they fixed the production issues.

Did you go to a dealer or some other way to see if they would be replaced?

I approached the dealer where I purchased the rims and tires. He filed a claim with Michelin and after their approval he had the wheels picked up at my place.

I went back and forth with BFG for a while, they refused to acknowledge the issue and insulted my intelligence with thier explanations about why the letters turned brown so fast. I threw the towel in, which is not like me, but I had other more important things going on. Now we are 5 years later, I am just going to keep them but never ever buy another set. Which won't bother them in the least of course, but they ticked me off after 10 or so sets of BFG tires over the years.

Today, I installed the right front upper control arm, removed, cleaned and painted the steering arms, removed the booster, master cylinder, front brake lines and the distribution block.

I am waiting for the front lower control arm bushings to show up. It was a blessing in disguise because without the lower control arms installed, I had a lot more room to crawl around under the car to disconnect the brake lines at the distribution block.

Now, I plan on installing the new booster, master cylinder and lines before I finish the rest of the suspension. We’ll see how it works out.

Picked up a 'momentary on' kill switch, and did a test fit in a Secret Location™ on a Spare Part™, and I think it's going to work awesome.

Pretty frustrating today. The master cylinder bench bleeder kit that came with The Right Stuff kit wouldn’t seal in the rear port. Couldn’t bleed it. It’s a holiday here, so I couldn’t get one from the parts store. Grrr.

Got windshield and rear glass in today. Rear bumper is assembled and on the car but not perfectly aligned.

Need a good calm day to paint rework the pass fender where I have a huge water drop in one spot and where I hit it with the air hose:(

Car needs a good rub down with 1500-2500 grit and a buff. Should polish ok?

A pretty frustrating morning today. I was in the shop last night until midnight. Got all of the brake lines ran, installed new rear wheel cylinders, installed the lower control arms, coil springs, shocks, among other things.

This morning, I went out with plans to finish everything up, I find that The Right Stuff sent me two right side backing plates and nothing for the driver’s side. Ironic, isn’t it? So much for being the right stuff.

Anyway, I called The Right Stuff, they won’t ship to Canada and directed me to Summit (where I got the kit in the first place). I was thinking, “oh great, I’m going to get the run-around,” but Summit said the have the backing plates in stock and they will get it to me ASAP. We’ll see.

Finished installing my TA Roller Rockers today . I'll set the lifter pre-load tomorrow and should be back on the road Sunday.

I'd rather not remove all the plugs and turn the motor at the harmonic balancer to set pre-loads so, can anyone suggest an easy way to hook up a bump starter as I'll be working alone?

Installed a stereo dash speaker from ClassicCarStereos.com. Good fit. Added a piece of black felt from Hobby Lobby so the look is closer to stock from the outside. 20220806_073229.jpg 20220806_072712.jpg 20220806_072709.jpg

    Hey Ray,
I have a remote start switch. Can’t say I’ve used it to do that though. I don’t know if you would be able to bump it easy enough to get it in the right spot to adjust and push rod. I guess it’s possible. I’m guessing most automotive shops sell them. I was given mine so I have no idea where it came from. Hope that helps

I cleaned up the 65 and drove it for the first time in 11 years. The throttle response is amazing. Now to get rid of the obnoxious flex fan.
