John, I'm glad to hear you guys are making progress. Keep working, you'll get it! Hope to see ya there. Quitter.
I'm pulling the engine out of my 73GS455 probably next weekend! :TU: :beer :beer :beer :beer :beer :Brow: :Brow:   :TU: Anthony
Getting the posi in this april. Tear down is done, just have to put it all together. Have to change the tranny filter and badda big badda boom.
Well I finally had the chance to trial fit my headers in my 64 Skylark with a Buick 350 I have got them to fit but what a pain in the azz!!! I do not have the funds to have them custom made so I used my daily driver as a test mule and had the headers ( old 1203 hookers i think ) in and out about 50 times a side finally modifying* the set so it fits. !!! In the begining of April I will be installing them in my Pro Touring 64 Skylark and with the new disc brakes it will be ready for spring / summer touring to Vancouver BC, Spokane and Seattle WA. Ken   :eek2: * massaging header tubes to a not so round form
He!! YEAH!!!!!! It has the engine from his old black GSX clone in it. And there is a 6-71 BLOWER on his workbench that will soon be huffing into it!!!!!!!!!!! Can't wait for a ride Al!!!!!!! LOVE those cheater slicks!!! Next time get them in whitewall!
Come on Ken, you know I'd have to have a Buick powering my street rod.... :Brow: Just got her moving under her own power and I'm in the process of getting it registered/insured. I plan on working the bugs out with the Stage 1 455 engine and building an entire new engine for the 6-71 blower. I scared myself the first time I hammered it from a 20 mph roll and it literally changed lanes on me.... :3gears: 450+ HP and approx. 1800 lbs. will do that I guess... Hope to make some Buick events this year... :TU:
I kinda figured that, Al!! :Brow: Sounds like one scary ride once you get the blown engine in place with the weight/power ratio you're talking! I hope to see you at some events this year, it's been a while. :TU:
Actually, if you look close, the headers are capped and there is another flange on the inner side of the collector to which the mandrel bent 2.5" exhaust is connected. See the tips of the tailpipes sticking down between the rear and gastank? It's how they did it back in the 60's which is the look I was after( That's why I resisted the whitewall slicks Yard, they're more a 50's thing). Always kinda liked the "Milner" American Graffiti coupe, how'd I do?..
Ken, I'm gonna have to tell you for the millionth time. Your car is aswome!!!!!!!!!! (Pictures of my car to come soon) :beer :Brow: Anthony
I've been telling you for months now Al. Bitchin'. Totally bitchin'. And wasn't John's car a 5 window? No matter. A deuce coupe is a deuce coupe! Love the lake pipes, man! I'm dying to hear that motor idle again. One of the best sounding Buicks I've ever heard. We'll be seeing you at my place probably in June, right? I'll be over your crib maybe next weekend - if the weather cooperates. What's in the keg ahead of the radiator??? Moonshine?
That was the first thing I thought of when I saw it. There would have been no question of whether Falfa was pulling away from him with a 455, though
Thanks, Man, you're making me blush! I have a lot of work to do, but I'm sure the end product will be worth it! Just have to be patient.... So where's those pics of your car???? :beer
