Dang Ryan, you are correct. I hope the cleanup isn’t too terrible. I truly love a good hurricane but the day after, that’s another story
Looks like we’re gonna get plenty of rain that’s for sure. Local weather guy said this morning 4 to 6 inches. I need a raincoat. I hate inside!
So... What will I do today? Oh ya, I'm going to finish painting the side of my garage. I guess I'd better get busy before the rain gets here.
Great! These storms are great for business. Ins companys pay out for new A/C units. As of this morning the projected path has it directly over my house on Friday. I have a trip set up to leave out of here on Monday morning to go see Adam then later JW. Wife is flying into Jax on Weds night. I have a whole house gen that I built and wired into the house and will be sure the tank is full by the end of the week. Going to pick up some canned goods and some bread. We'll be just fine. The path of this one looks close to the same as my very first in 85. Elania. Was living in Largo back then on Indian Rocks beach
My house is the black dot, my work is the red dot. Darren, I believe you are about 5 miles closer to this than I am, I hope you are safe from flooding. My work has already shut down all the transformers on campus to ensure they are not damaged.... they are 5 feet above sea level on the coast of Tampa Bay.... they will get some flood damage for sure.
I have lived in FL for 10 years, maybe it's me, but the Storm Porn Screamers (Weather Forecasters) seem to be in all out panic mode, more so than I can recall in the past. It is making the new arrivals crazy, who needs 25 cases of water - - - ?
Could the sky be falling or was it a wolf Either way the overhyped "drama" can be dangerous for obvious reasons. The weather channel lasted less than ten minutes yesterday before I couldn't take the alarmist attitude going on. Like with anything be prepared and pay attention, simple as that. Be safe be ready but please don't be greedy Keep up the reports J C
Keep up the reports? OK, I finished painting the south wall of my garage, and it’s even all cut in around the windows and doors also. Now I have to put all the mess back where it came from, but right now I am enjoying a nice cold beverage.
Oh yeah, I forgot about the weather report. Right now at 11:12 AM it is 87.8°. Let me go check the barometer. The barometer is exactly where I set the needle yesterday. Upon closer inspection, with my reading glasses on, the needle has budged slightly higher. Looks to be 1012.5 mbar. That means we are having very nice weather. The skies are kind of hazy, and the wind is nonexistent. It’s actually a pretty hot day in the sun. That’s the 11 AM weather report
The local weather guy said today’s storms are not a part of the hurricane. From looking at this picture it sure as heck looks like it is. I think it’s going to start raining here any minute. I’m cooking shrimp and grits tonight if anyone is interested. Lots of shrimp!
I am getting electrical work done now so that I’ll be ready for generator power at the house. I have a 6500 and a 3000. Hoping to keep stuff running, refrigerator, fans for the most part, should I lose power. Yes, that is a spare grand national engine from Waterboy sitting next to the back up generator LOL Hope you remain safe as well brother! That goes for all of us in Florida!
Do you know what they say Darren, if it’s not a cat, it’s a dog! Mean you all don’t have a window unit set aside for hurricanes? I’ve been doing that for 1 million years. Yes, refrigerator is very important along with lights and some fans. Beer is very important
On a more serious note, I see they moved the cone a hair to the right, or east, for the 5 o’clock update. On a bright note, they are saying it will only be a cat one when you get it. Now, can we believe them?
My daughter lives in a mandatory evacuation zone so she’s getting things together to be out by Tuesday AM.
