If all your going to do is tell me to cut my GS up ..... dont take this wrong but get lost. I want to tune what I have and maybe "bolt" on something else With that said here is the problem....This weekend I was told by several people that my GS was like doing a bunny hop (once) with the Left rear tire. High enough and far enough to jump over a ball cap was the quote. I had the 60 foots in the 1.52's most of the day on a marginal track at best. One question I have is when I bolt on the Anti-roll bar that bolts on will that help? I have airbags in the rear springs adjustable rear shocks and adjustable upper rear bars. 4000 lb car on a 30 x 12.50 GY slick. According to the witnesses my car will pull the left up real high and as it moves a few feet from the startline the LR tire literally leaves the ground. I wish someone would have taken a picture of it. SO where can I start.
Mike I've installed and seen first hand before and after.... The HR parts-n-stuff anti roll bar that bolts on does work. My buddy's 72 chevelle will go 1.42 consistently since he put it on. It was not so consistent before. It also took the twist out of the car. This car has about 650 HP 454 and raceweight is 3700+ and it runs on 10.5x29.5 MT slicks. It sounds like your car is twisting so hard that it is topping the rear shock travel...Are the coil springs staying in? I believe the bolt on anti-roll bar will help.....But you DO have to drill 4 holes in your frame to install it.
That's what it look's like when you tie one of these cars together with a good cage,The car is stiff but you're still on a suspension that was designed to ride down the road smoothly. That is John Gentners car and I'm guessing with little or no air in the right side air bag..... How much air is in the your right airbag?
Tom Rix and I had talked and he gave me a couple ideas and one was to barely lift the rear in the center with a jack and have someone my weight in the front seat, I then add enough air to make the rh side tire touch the ground as the left is off by about 1/2 inch. I ended up having about 50-55 lbs in the rh airbag
Mike, I second the HR Parts-N-Stuff bar........ If you put one on your car and don't like it I will buy it from you (FULL PRICE) to put on my other car. I will personally guarantee you will not have these issues once you do. :moonu: See Ya In Kearney with my straight launching not cut up Buick    :Brow: :Brow: :Brow:
Mike, what Gary & Todd said. Once i adjusted mine correctly, i lost the twist & launches straight & improved my 60'. Randy
Mike, there is one thing about the HR bar that you might not like ? you will lose that white knuckle totally out of control feeling that you have grown to love. and it will feel like your driving grandma to church. Did You Get It Ordered Yet ?????
Mike If those are still the same tires you got from Jeff Hart,Consider a fresh set......With your power level tires will not work as long as they used to when you were in the 11's. How much tire pressure are you running?
I have already replaced the tires and they were at 15 then 14 then 13 ,13 was where it worked the best.
OK,That sounds good,Get the Anti-Roll bar put on and see where it's at then. Oh...And there's a tenth if you get rid of the FAT Radials on the front in favor of a 3.5" wheel with some "Racier" tires.... Could be the difference between a 10.0 and a 9.9 and it can be changed back easier than anything....
Twist and shout Mike: Do as these people say, for they know of what they speak!:beer Hope to see you go fast(er) in Kearney this year.:blast: Jim PS Why is it that I can't win the all buick thing?
Mike, I made my own anti-roll bar that mounts in the trunk, and it is like night and day. Here is a before and after pic. Rob
Well I just got to sell some things so I can get one at this point!! I want to say a BIG thanks to Tom Rix for letting me call and discuss suspension with!!!!!!!!!!!!
Now Mike, No more excuses! Gary K has given you advice and you have spoken to Mr. Tom Rix! Now do it! Listen to those that are "Getting it done"! Those Goodyear's may need a bit more air pressure then the "lighter cars". I had to run 15psi in mine to get rid of the "tire shake, or wadding in all reality (Thanks Gary K, for confirming the slicks he got off of me are long gone) Just messing with you,Mike! :blast:   I went to the quarter finals this past weekend in the Real Street class on a 10.00 index when; believe this or not the power went out at the track! Oh yeah still on the leased "Finishline Motorsports engine and transmission and ran my all time best sixty foot time; a 1.397 on the Goodyears! Cant wait until the parts are in for MY stuff.  On to the Pro Hot Rod & Muscle Car Nationals the weekend after the 4th and then on to another NSCA race the weekend after, then another Real Street race then there is August Man it is fun to race against the NOS powered off brands!  Sorry all, just having a bit of fun this season!
Hey Mike, your really gonna like this bar, it took ALL the twist out of my car. it launches dead straight! I worked with Paull Ferry, mocking this bar up on my car, I am not trying to take any credit becuase the time and effort Paul puts into his parts development is amazing. you'll see! installation is a breeze, it even comes with the proper drill bit, all bolts, hardware etc.. this kit was ment to be able to install at the track if needed.
