Looking for a set of two original rubber bumpers that contact the backside of the rear license plate bracket/fuel cap access door on a 1970 Buick A-body. They mount into the rear bumper. Apparently these aren't reproduced (yet).

If you have a set that you don't want to part with, consider "renting" me yours so i can use the originals so I can make a Urethane mold too make additional parts. The mold making process won't hurt the originals and then I can make parts for whoever needs them here!

Check with CARS. They had some at the Nationals last year.

I got some from Cars a few years ago. They appeared the same as the ancient ones that were on there. Good luck with their web site though. Better calling them.

I have a pair (dry but intact) I just pulled from a '70 bumper that I'd be happy to send you.

It'd be interesting to compare side by side to a repro set but I don't have any of them here. Have you done so &/or are you not happy w/the repro?

I heard they weren't reproduced. I haven't tried CARS yet but I will. I'll let you know what they look like. You know how it is - sometimes places sell parts that are supposed to fit your car but they aren't quite the right thing. I'll see what's up the CARS parts. Stay tuned.

Case in point: I had no idea this was even a thing, let alone missing.

I also saved about $15 buying from their eBay store. The disparity in shipping prices is absurd.

Advance auto has a variety pack however, only 1 is close to stock, so I had to get two packs.

If you buy the CARS ones & want an orig. to compare, lmk & I'll send you one. If they're not good enough & you want to make them you'll have a sample too.

I stock every Rubber Bumper I can get for these cars but to my knowledge nobody reproduces the CORRECT one for the 1970 cars which are different than they 71/72 cars. I do have ones that are about as close as you can get for the 1971/72 Bumpers.

Stacey, IF you get the ones from CARS let me know. If they're the correct ones I'll start stocking them. I have some originals here I can compare to. I've been saving them in hopes of getting them reproduced . . . .

It's a bummer their website doesn't show a picture. You're "shooting from the hip" at this point.

I got the parts from CARS. They fit but I can't say how close the are to the originals without comparing them side by side. I took a few measurements if anyone wants to compare them to an original piece.

I'll measure the one I have next time I'm in the shop. It's sitting out.

The biggest visual difference I see is the OE one doesn't have that .08 flat area where it would rest against the bumper (heck, that could be a GM supplier variation) but other than a few other minor variations in dimensions, & I'm measuring a 50 year old (Freemont) rubber part, it's pretty darn close.

    Looks close enough to me.

Kudos to CARS for making these small bits that often get overlooked.

Were these from the link I included above?

I was in a private message thread with Logan about reproducing the ribbed, thick walled overflow hoses no one makes.

    That was 3 months ago....

Were these the bumpers from the link?

I ask because I can't recall seeing them on my car and likely need to grab them.

You know there's 3 across the back of the hood, right?
