At the time Cadillac was overwhelmed with the amount of cars they were selling & didn't want/need another. Olds already had the Tornados so they also did not need it. So it was up to Pontiac & Buick. For Pontiac it would have competed with the Gran Prix so Pontiac was out. ONLY Buick left & ran with it & HAPPY Buick ran with it. Tom T.
