    Heck,
I even like DH. Gave him a Ford bolt for the Ram Rod which will corrupt it. It'll turn into An Edsel, with a 292!! :Brow:
Remlinger, appreciate the hospitality, I now know and understand the schedule. OWL BE bAAACK.

My 1st year was 1996 which makes this my 12th year to attend this spectacular event. I raced every year except 2006 due to a wedding however I did spectate on friday. In 1996 we had 21 cars. My how this event has grown. It was great to see over 150 cars in attendance.

That's why I had so much trouble in that first round. Like the red 66 442, it died at the light and I had to restart it. Never did that before I put that damn Ford bolt in there.

First year was 1999 when we snapped the driveshaft and broke the bellhousing. Have made every one since. Great show.

Thanks Bob and Dan for another great year -If we didn't have the event to go to, It would be a great misjustice for the cars and our social lives!!!!
even though I didn't get to bring my car this year. Had a great time - My wife had a ball and is hooked for life! She set a new best .:3gears:
And can't wait for next year...

    Hey Donny,
isn't it about time to get rid of that "Not running with the Big Dog's, but not on the porch either" line in your signature?

13.47 is nothing to sneeze at, and I think once we see all the qualifying times listed, the majority of the car's there were in the 13.30-13.60 range, and there were alot of the best from the big three in that E.T. range.

    Noel,
I know where 619 is, grew up in North Canton, you're lucky you didn't add a reckless operating ticket to the weekend. How will you fix it, if it's in The "Bugeye state and you're down playing with the NASCAR folks? :puzzled:

Even though the Biscayne didn't wanna play nice with me this year, I still had an AWESOME time !!! Carb woes and wheel hop still plague me. As I was being bummed out about not beating the car into submission, I realized how much fun it was to watch all of the shootouts happen before my eyes. The commentary and-the-like that you hear in the stands is priceless.

"That thing goes 100 mph on THOSE tires ......"

    "There's NO WAY ..."

    "That's a GIRL driving that Cutlass ....."

And the general ROOTING for the '58 Mercury .... just cuz .......

As always ... well worth the time.

Besides being in Alaska last year, I've been attending since 1994 when we did a track rental at Milan and had the party at my house after. That would make me 13 years minus 1 ........ :bglasses:

Had a great time! Finally got the Camaro to tickle the 11's at Stanton.
The hotel parking lot is the best part of the week-end any more. If your missing that, your missing what this event is all about! Benoit cooked up his chicken Gumbo, and this year, fried cat fish. The catfish in my backyard river, you could'nt pay me to eat, but this stuff was excellent. Of course Bruno always has an amazing amount of excellent food. The lamb and steak was "over the top" Thanks again Bruno. Glad to see all the annual friends and the new ones as well.
If my doctor saw what I ate and drank, he would be the one having the heart attack! I just thought I could misbehave once this summer, so I did!
    Thanks again folks!

Pete, they say the key to happiness and longevity in life is moderation. And that includes moderation in moderation, too.

I, unfortunately slept through the parking lot from 6-10, missed it all. That won't happen again. Saturday I took my naps at the tree. :Do No:

I knew you would know 619.I know (most) of the local police(small town & I used to work for a couple of the local Fire Depts) so that helps. As for your question about the car and I in different states? I have four choices.
    1. Starting building my house and garage down here.
2.Hire the Glasgo's to fix it.
3.Stop playing "worldly traveler" and move back home.
4.Finish my 68 Hurst Olds and race that.

I'm not sure what the plan is at this point.Stay tuned.

I vote for #4. The other three are insignificant, but may be advisable domestically, to also do #1 (if there's anything left in the budget). Moving back to Ohio, or paying to have your Pontiac fixed? :Do No: :Do No:

Start thinking up a unique bet for the Ohio State/UM game this year. At this point in the season, I'll need , oh, maybe 49 points?

FUN INDEED! As always is great to meet up with old (Olds?) friends and meet new ones. Was equally awesome to watch the only other driver of my Runner do this race against his bestest buddy Tom Cannon. Must give kudos to Karen & Frank for taken care of the track food once again this year. Was more than happy to supply some home grown grade A+ bar-bq beef spare ribs, bacon and sweet corn to the feast. Had hot sausage to supply as well but no one spoke up for it. Oh ya can't forget some good ole speed beef baloney (that's venison for those not knowing). YUM YUM:beer
Car ran same as last year, 13.34@104+ so I guess it's time to pull it and make it more "stocker" for next year :bla: .

    Pete,
It was good to see you there racing as it had been on my mind if you were going be able to make it. Now all have to do is wait 3 more years to be able to race with one of my boys like you are able to (he won't turn 16 until a week after the race in 2009).

    Frank,
Was good to put a face with the name. If you can hold out maybe I can have Jeff drive a restored limited edition '57 Golden Fury in a couple of years:idea2: I think that dual-quad 318 might have something for you & Stefina:bla:

    Lon, Casey.
NOW you're talkin' We could stand a J-2 , maybe a '56,7 or 8 tri-power Pontiac, How about a Bendix injected Rambler? I know those are not the fastest cars in the world, but the fans would love them. I can hear it now "Man, I had one just like that 'cept mine was a six speed with four turbo's!!" :pp
