Not really, yours has a White Hat. :bla: I did However, recently view a freshly restored Burgundy Mist Poly GS , and it is Gorgeous. Someone will end up with one sweet ride. DL
So this is mildly off topic, but somebody mentioned those pedals were off a Pontiac. I am assuming the chrome trim is the dead giveaway? I thought the pedal trim was an option on our cars. Is that trim a poncho only deal? KFD
Good question, does anyone know if the other 4 speed parts,ie z bar, frame bracket, rod, etc. are the same for all A bodies except chevelle.? gary
Didnt Scott Miller sell a burgundy mist Stage 1 4 speed several years ago? IIRC, it was in similar condition. I'll never forget the final price on Ebay- $18k:eek2:
Option W2 Custom Upper Peak & Rear body. (Body Side Upper Peak, Rear deck lid & Quarter Extensions) You can see the rivits and outline of the stainless trim on the right side picture and it's complete across the right rear (just above the bumper) in the tail shot of the car. I've always thought this option sets a car off nicely, and seems like a sign that the car your viewing has a lot of other options.
At least some Pontiac parts are the same but I don't know a thing about whether Olds is. Good question Gary. A tough one too. You'd have been one of the first people I would have asked. ou:
Jason, Apparently I challenged the group to seek out it's twin. Good luck. :moonu: I'm sure there is something similar out there, but equally sure there is nothing identical. What's IIRC mean? 18K. What will this one do Jason? Burgundy Mist wasn't all that common. We don't have a break down of color available to us, but it seems like colors like Burgundy Mist & Aqua Mist were seldom ordered compared to the greens and golds. Throw in how many have been lost, repainted red or black, and you're down to, as Basketball Sam would say, "Too Few".
I agree with all your observations James, but would add that '70 455", four speeds are the cars that typically lost there original blocks years ago.
I believe the pedals are the same. The pads and trim are what is different. I always liked the look of the trim, but the fact of the matter is your foot can slip off easier. I'll bet that's why Buick never did it.
IIRC- If I remember correctly... I agree 100% Brian. With only 664 cars made, and the wide selection of options, I would bet money that no two cars were identical. There was a thread a while back where we guessed from the DCR info that about 13 or 14 Aquamist Stage 1 4 speeds were made. How many with a black vinyl top? With buckets and console? Probably just mine. I was just pointing out another Stage 1 4 speed that sold in similar condition a few years back. Coincidentally in the same color. Albeit at the height of the market. The bottm line is that its worth whatever someone is willing to pay. The prices for these cars arent going to stay depressed forever. There have been other drops in the muscle car market and within a few years, they just come back even stronger. Will this one do 18k? Who knows. Its gonna be fun to watch though. Nows the time to buy folks. :Smarty:
I also seem to believe the pedals are the same. I remember pulling a gas pedal out of a Skylark, and it had the trim around the pedal as well, As far as the linkage and bracketry, it seems to me that a car with 85% parts commonality with the Chevelle would have something like the linkages, pedals and bracketry come from the same corporate parts bin... And yes, if I had the money, I would be all over this car in a heart beat! KFD
Pedals interchange with Buick,Olds,Pontiac from the same era. Only the pads are different. Same z-bar and mount just the linkage is either a ball style or threaded depending on application...........
I just wanted to point out , FWIW, the 4 speed 350 "Z" bar is different than BB. :TU: Wheelz, Tampa Bay
naaa...all the z bars are different....but buick small block and olds are close... two syle of pedals..if you take it all they interchange.... even the z bar brkts can be different depending on year an application... .
Did I just notice this beater has the boxed control arms and sway bar? Is that a power disc brake master cylinder? Those body panels don't line up too badly either. GOOOOOOOOOOOOOT TOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO NOOOOOOOOOOT HIIIIIIIIIIIIT PLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACE BIIIIIIIIIIIIIIID BUTTTTTTTTTTTON Looks like another bucket seat is in the barn picture. I hope it wasn't the original. ou:
Thanks Brian.......temporary hijack...could someone post a pic of a car with the upper peak molding on a car....I see the rivets but would would love to see...and not for nuthin'...but how does this car get to within 30K in bidding of the blue, all#s. mint one also on Ebay. My spidey sense is telling me there may be some questionable bidding afoot, with all due respect to the lass who posted here.
Very nice looking car James. Apparently there are several threads on the W2 option as well, with at least one having an illustration.
