  1. 436'd Skylark

    436'd Skylark Sweet Fancy Moses!!!!!

I for one think that its a pretty cool car. If its one of one, then that makes it worth alot. Granted, the 3 speed trans makes the car slower, and less fun. I'd rather have a four speed or an automatic, who wouldn't. :Do No: Defenatly a cool, one of a kind ride :Brow:

As far as prices for parts, its definatly crazy. Parts are expensive. that is that. Funny thing is, Without specialist website like this one, prices would be insane. Sites like these drive the prices down!! way down. I wouldn't even know where to begin to look for Sport mirrors, or a GS grill with out the internet. Other than junkyard scavenging, and swap meets there aren't to many sources. Lets face it, finding Buick parts at a swap meet is about as easy as finding a GS in a junkyard that hasn't had all the good parts picked off it. :Smarty: This site drives prices down, and makes finding parts so easy.

I am glad this car is showing the price it is.

most of us here are like me and are interested in the most perfrmance oriented version of anything we may buy. but that is no reason to start bad mouthing something because it isnt and isnt what you would want.

It must be the garter hanging from the rearview mirror that's driving the price up!

    Who are you???

Truck455, there was no malice intended with my little picture above, was just going for a laugh. I don't know your socio-economic status, but for most of us "little people" spending more than $100K for anything but a home is pretty much out of reach. If you are of a social level that can afford to pass around that kind of cash for a car (given it is a 1 of 1) then more power to you! :beer

    John,

Just for the record, if I had and extra 140k or so burning a hole in my pocket, I'd be crusing this one down the road. Unfortunately, I cannot even afford your other 70.

As far as the bashing, I believe it's the ugliness of envy showing it's face. There isn't anyone here lining up to sell below market value.

the first motor a 70 I got for $300.00 from a junk yard around 1981

the second one a 70 is in my 72 skylark paid 900.00 for it and i bought it that way
in 1983 actually its still on the 350 frame pads :eek2: does the car still exhist (sp) :Do No: :Do No: :Do No:

the third a 72 i got in1984 paid 1000.00 for it .....well thats a very sad story the car was an ultra clean 72 stage1 all options ....I mean spotless green white on white just like my Riv :ball: :ball: :ball:
well this a$$hole wrapped the back end around a steel utility pole
he said going about a buck twenty down broadway ave in Cleveland :af: :af: :af: :af: :af:

the motor is on a stand the front clip and BB trans buckets tilt tach and gauges are on my 72 skylark it was sad too cut that one up :ball: :ball: :ball:

it was owned buy a guy named Joe Castrigano (sp) he's a top notch body man in my area.... he sold it to the dolt who wrecked it :ball: :spank: :spank: I don't remember his name

the motor had a bell 118 cam and springs in it and headers

    Thanks Mark -

I was just wondering if the VINs on the engines were associated with a car in the registry.

Imagine getting a call 20 years later - Hello, I have your original engine. :bglasses:

    that would be K:eek2: :eek2: L

but it's highly unlikely the third car exists when I got my 72 skylark
it had the engine trans and rear end from a 70 stage1 :Brow:
it also had the front clip and trunk lid from the same car
the fenders and bumper were damaged so they got tossed :ball: thats why it has the front clip from the 72 stage1

I still have the hood, grill, air cleaner and emblems :Brow:

now all I need is a stiped out rust free non A/C 70 stage 1 body

and im in business :Brow: :Brow: :Brow: :Brow:
