Make that 92,100....... And going up, & the res is still not met? :jd:  I'd take 1/3 of that for mine, to bad auto's aren't going for that much!:bglasses: ou:
Look at what one of the other high bidders (lick291) just won last month! 70 Hemi Cuda Looks like the current high bidder is from Chicago, same as the seller.
3-speed why is there so many harsh remarks, how you can compare my stage one to a pacer or pinto is beyond me, i thought you guys liked buicks, or maybe just YOUR OWN. And if there is 1 more find it , this is probably one of the best documented muscle cars in existance. If I do get my reserve from a collector who has the full 70 line up minus the buick,I believe it helps all buick stage 1 cars.Think about it, it is about time a buick hits 100k+!
70 3-speed IS IT RAELLY THAT HARD TO BELIEVE? WE HAVE WANTED TO HEAR THIS KIND OF ACTION FOR A LONG TIME.
70 3-SPEED Wow I am truly amazed at how negative alot of people are viewing what's going on, now that a buick finally cracked 100K+ (where it should be) there's more hostility that it's the 3 speed that cracked it instead of any of these owner's cars. My Dad (this is Tonya writing) would be very proud of John for making the 3 speed the sacrificial lamb to raise the values of these unappreciated muscle cars. 105k+? Watch it go!!!
hey I wouldnt take much creedence in any percieved negetivity, I for one find this auction amazing and wondering why it hasnt happened sooner. I hope the thing hits 150, we'd be talking about that one for years, and most likely national recognition for an amazing muscle car to alot of people who otherwise dont respect the Buick line to wake up. Good Luck on it Dana:TU:
It's amusing to me with "only" a Skylark 350 that there are some people around here who want to sing the praises of owning a GS (only a big block, though) and then talk down someone for selling an extremely rare car to a person who must really want it! I came to this site looking for a place to get help and information on my Skylark. It was nice knowing you all, I'll stick to books for research from now on.
I had a little rant here several months ago when Lee Jay originally put his GS up for sale. Everyone is so quick to knock, pick apart and come up with a value for cars when they are listed. I said then if I ever sold one of my cars I wouldn't list it here for fear of being dissed for asking too much, the car has the wrong door knob, etc. etc. I guess I won't be able to list it on ebay either without fear of the same treatment. We are supposed to be a supportive community. Gary, I understand your feelings. If I had been around as long as you I would leave also. However, in my time here I have met a lot of great people on line and in person. I have learned to separate the "wheat from the chaff". That's my "rant" for another couple of months. Harv
One of the biggest strengths (and weaknesses) of this board is that it crosses so many different age, creed, and economic spectrums. For instance, I am a 23 year old male who makes about 15 000 US a Year, I have no qualms saying that that car isn't worth 105K, to me NO car is worth that kind of money. More power to the seller, congrats, and who cares what the particulars are on that car, its rare and somebody wants it, I don't but hey it is a beautiful car. For me, I don't want to see high prices on anything at all, I don't want to see my car become inaccesible to myself, but hell somebody is willing to pay it. As far as percived value, a car is only worth what somebody else is willing to pay for it. That's why apprasials suck and when I see an add "over 20000 invested," I say "So what, I'll give you..." But Congrats, I'm interested to see how high it goes!
I hope you get a ton for it John, twice what it is bidding right now would be nice....but if the prices go through the roof I'll be hard pressed to build my Buick collection...I've kept up with your auction and this thread from the beginning and in my opinion everyone was just taking a reality check. I hope you don't think folks were being negitive about you or your car..It's beautiful and many of us obviously think that or we wouldn't be here. I'm just mad I threw out my three spd to put a 4 spd in. In my defense I locked the three speed up but I should have rebuilt it. Keep on keepin on! :TU: I hope a Buick lover gets it.
Gary, Settle down. Is a 1 of 1 three speed car worth 2-3 times as much as the same car with a 4 speed or AT. Looks like it. I think we all are glad to see the car sell for big $$. However, it looks like we all are going to have to pay more for our next Buick. A plus might be that maybe this will get some big repo company to make some fenders, hoods, ETC for our cars. Maybe they could even publish a book with 1/2 the info as this web site. Sure most of the info on this site is geared towards BBB. Drive one and you will find out why. John
Great Googly Moogly! It's now up to $109,100 and the top bidder looks serious. He has only one other feedback: Looky! Yikes! :eek2:
