That's the problem. So many people like you want to make SOOOO many excuses as to why your particular brand is unfairly represented. Face it .... There are NO Top Fuel Buicks. Huh .... wonder why. BBChevy's in a Corvette have an advantage. Yep, no one can disupute that ..... but don't whine when a max-effort BBC in a scienced-out Corvette hands you, your Buick, your Hemi Mopar, your FoMoCo, or anything else.... your A$$ !! Face the facts .... Wayne Nelson, in his L88 IRON block Corvette is doing what no one else in F.A.S.T. is or can do. Bottom line. Stop the cryin' :ball:

DAMN - good thing I'm not competitive .......

Thanks for all the congrats guys!! I would be a liar if I said I knew we could run 10.59! No way,I really figured IF we ever hit the tens,it be like 10.99 and on a good day, maybe 10.90 or so.Well, the car seems to faster at every race!I never thought it had a 10.59 in it,but I'm not complaining!
Lets not start the whole, "is it a musclecar" or not thing again,I really dont know what it is,and I stopped caring months ago.All I know is.. its fast, easy to drive, was a production car,and its MINE.
Donny,I'll appoint you in charge of all fan club duties,I know you'll do a great job!

Which 440-6 car is giving Wayne a run for his money ?

    L-88 Vette's weren't production cars ???

Where do I PayPal my money for the "I know Wayne Nelson" t-shirt ? Are they available in colors and large gut sizes ? :)

May try to the guys in the Studebaker Club with thetshirts of: "I owned the plain brown wrapper"..."I bought the plain brown wrapper", "I get my mail in a plain brown wrapper"......etc.

Sorry, Stude dudes, it was too easy. We "orphan owners" need to stick together.

If you guys are impressed by a piece of fiberglass beating these other cars, well, thats your perogative!!! I for one am not! Why? Because it doesn't meet my definition of a muscle car! No matter what F.A.S.T. says.

    -1970 Buick GSX, Stage 1, White, #607
    -1970 Hemi-Challenger, Factory T/A Hood

And they run 10-what's ?? [IMG]

I'd be just a tad hesitant to say something was not impressive unless you have something to back up the "un-impressive" glass car. Factory built, dealer availabile, anyone could have ordered ...... L-88 Corvette -- not many, but it dosen't take many to be at the top of the heap .....

I'm a damn Mopar guy .... what the heck am I talking about !!!! :Do No:

Maybe it's time Wayne brings his Corvette over to downtown Detroit. Before it gets anymore notoriety. He could make a ton of cash, most people on the street would guess a restored Corvette would run a 13.59 not a 10.59........ :Brow:

congrats wayne .you worked hard for it. :Smarty: muscle car review in one of their back issues said you pick the lightest allowable car with the most horsepower package and it looks like you did it. :TU:

    Congrats again to Wayne

    Wayne,
wasn't cutting on your car, was just throwing an on-going jab at Donny for
    laughs

What Wayne has accomplished with the Corvette is truly remarkable, and the
only way there is going to be a door handle to door handle finish from here on
out in the F.A.S.T. class, is if someone shows up with another L-88 Vette
    that know's their $hit! :3gears:

What does that tub weigh with you in it Wayne? Probably not as light as most
people are thinking, that glass is thick :Smarty: Aerodynamic's, engine set
back in the chassis, rear axle location are more of a factor than saying the
    car is a lightweight.

    Peace out,
    Tom

Someone running 13.44 with a Biscuit shouldn't have to much to say either! Maybe that L88 is what you need to get it going! It sure is powerful when its wrapped in fiberglass!

    Nuff said!

    Patrick

I'll stick with the muscle cars! You can continue to watch the vette and enjoy.

Really ? You can bet your butt I'm gonna continue to watch Wayne and his Vette. I don't care if you call it a 4 wheel drive, crew cab dually....it is flat out hauling.

I've not seen ONE post from you yet that shows that you have even made a pass down the quarter mile. 13.44 in a 4100# Biscayne may not be your cup of piss and vinegar ... but at least I got a timeslip.

"Don't make me get the W-31" ..... (to quote Jeff Sawruk)

    Casey,

I'm sorry for offending you and those who enjoy watching the Vette at F.A.S.T.. You are certainly entitled to your opinion. So am I!

The vette is very fast! No doubt. I however am more impressed by the big 3 that made intermediates that can run the low 11's closing in on 10's real soon.

Didn't mean to tick anybody off! Obviously I did that.
