what he said , to date , that i know of , there has NOT been an 11 sec pass with a big block WEDGE HEAD Mopar , the few 440-6 cars that were run NEVER made an 11 sec run and one was 500 inches .

the only mopars to run in the 11's are the hemis and tom cannons SMALLBLOCK .

or have i missed something ....

oh and put me down for a "I know Wayne Nelson " shirt also ... :Brow:

as far as i know dougs car went low 12's and never made a pass in the 11's though its been said that it has 11's in it , heck , my diesel ram has 11's in it if i throw more power to it :spank: never mind it wasn't exactly correct , 22" radiator and NO dana , so it was a little lighter to boot .

thanks tom , i meant to put in that the only BB wedge mopar in the 11's is a certified STOCK 440-6 pk car . and POSSIBLY the black max wedge car ?

what cars does kevin have ? is one the white 340 duster , that may have dipped into the 11's also ?

i'd like to be in the 11's so i bought a big blue crate from mopar yesterday

    Kevin's cars

He's got more stuff than you can shake a stick at...

    His FAST/SA stuff:

The yellow RR is I think a 71??? He's also got an orange A body (not sure if it's a Demon or Duster), but I think that's a small block car.

Give it time, there will be other cars that will catch up. I don't know who or what, but it will happen. Yes, the Tupperwaremobile has a tremendous lead right now, but we have been there before.

Who can remember way, way back, to the Hemi vs Nova shootout, where Dave Dudek and Phil Brewer squared off in a grude match for Muscle Car Reveiw Magazine?
On a cold winter day at Silver Dollar Raceway, Dave dipped into the 11's for the first time ever, I think it was an 11.99. We were all stunned, we never figured it could be done. No one thought it would ever be repeated, least of all Dave himself. It was the event that really begot F.A.S.T. racing.
Now we have a F.A.S.T. car in the 10.50's. As incredible as that is, I predict that it will happen again, and eventually often. :Smarty:

  11. 10.59 is the limit of what's possible!

My dad has an old car magazine in which some engineers famously calculated that the quickest it's physically possible for a dragster to go is something like low nines? Which was surpassed within a few months of the article's publication. Now we're down to 4.40s -- though I think a 10.59 on Wide Ovals is similarly astonishing!

    Mike Wowk Who freakin' cares?

FYI...My Road Runner went 12.11 with a .030 over 440 1970's tech TRW 11 to 1's and a solid tappet cam. It had 3:55 gears. My heads only flowed 250cfm. Given some money(which I didn't have) mid 11's could be done pretty easily.

Yes, I do recall you having to support two houses, one that got termites or carpenter ants because the renters stacked wood on the back wall.

As well as loosing an enclosed trailer everytime you went to Texas.

Those would crimp the race funds.

Mike Wowk is not allowed to borrow my tow vehicle or trailer ---- ever. Every time he goes somewhere they end up missing ....... :Do No:

I don't believe either said they did it!

You are right..It didn't, I didn't even hinted that I did :error: I was mearly saying that if a 10.95CR 3800lb barely ported heads can go 12.11. Then mid 11's should be pretty easy if ya throw a few bucks at the car.

Mike I know you never said it did , nor hinted at it , but i still can't believe one has NOT , till jim's CERTIFIED STOCK , been into the 11's . it just tells me that wedge headed BB mopar is NOT competitve , but i said before MAYBE a maxi is ???? :Dou:

Those poor wedge head BB Mopars, how can they be competative?

The aluminum six pack intake is heavy and restrictive and has too little carburation.......NOT!
And those Terrible HP manifolds, with small runners with sharp turns and runners facing in wrong directions...........NOT!
And those tiny heads that only flow around a measly 300 CFM, that will never work..........NOT!
Oh and lets not forget about the 440's small 4.3xxx bore size........NOT!

I see no reason why a good 440 based car can not go Deep into the low 11's or better. :beer

Greg is SPOT on with each of his points/examples.

Don't forget the crappy rod-to-stroke on an RB Mopar ..... :TU:
