I personally had a lot of trouble and expense trying to bring my '69 GS400 convertible up to speed in the 2004-2014 period and, it was in way better shape than this Canuck car! The same could be said about Duane's Motion car.

Please consider some of his quotes in the Motion Equipped Thread.

#119 Again, this is only working because we had so many finished pieces to start with. If we had to source everything it would take forever, especially because it's a 69 and not a 70-72. I have also been "raiding" my personal stash of Buick parts. It appears I had saved just enough of the specialty pieces to do this car.

#197 I don't know if you could even put together the parts for the car today, but if you could it would probably take a couple of years to do it…

#230 I'll tell you what, I feel sorry for the 69 guys. The more I work on this car the more I learn how many parts are not reproduced.

No wonder they call themselves "The Step Child Nation"…

#1079 I can tell you this much, restoring a 69 car is not for the faint of heart. You need to really want to do it, and you better have a really complete car to start with. Having a case of extreme tunnel vision and drive also helps.

Best bet is to buy a clean convertible for $15-$20k for ALL of the body parts….

It's taken a lot time to pull together all the parts for my basket case '70 4-sp. that was missing a lot. I sold off all my '69 NOS/used stuff & cannot imagine trying to collect everything to correctly do one of those cars. If I ever own one it'll have to be done car.

I wasn't kidding about my 69 parts stash. Probably close to 30 k in parts invested.

Beautiful car! Don't think that personally I could have ever have sold that. Great color combo.

Oh HELL NO! I just about cleaned out all of my 69 parts and replaced them all with 70-72 parts, and have 2 nice 70's. The next stepchild will either be a 69 Stage hardtop (that is pretty complete and needing a minimal amount of body work) AND/OR a 68 GS 400 hardtop.....Well, maybe a 69 GS 400 hardtop... LOL. No more rusty/ rotted sh*tboxes..

If the advertised car turns into a parts bomb, I have first dibs on the radiator X brace.

It would take many years and lots cash to collect parts and pieces to make this #1 or 2 car for sure. There aren’t many NOS parts or quality used for 69’s showing up lately and most body stuff needs fixed.

if this were a 4 speed car, it might be worth it but still will be years in the process.

4 cars with 3-speed 77 cars with 4-speed 131 cars with ST/TH 400. Not worth to be saved??

Good news, I just checked, and it's still available! I'm sure shipping from Canada to Sweden can't be very much for an inoperative beauty like this :D

It'd have to be someone's dream car. Hopefully it is but not at that price.

Brian, the two pictures was fantastic! Sweden restorers have seen much worse than this. But I agree, too much money to start with. And on the top we have to pay around 9.000 dollar for a container. Second problem is to find parts here. If you in the states have limited options we have none. Sadly,it`s a rare car.
