I have lost weight since US131, plus the car was carrying less fuel so our combined weight was down 40lbs. Remember, each gallon of fuel weighs about 9 lbs. I would think that makes up most of the weight discrepancy.
I had forgot about the fuel weight. I had a full tank at Stanton. That helps explain the 41 # increase from Martin. Ok, I'll take a little of the blame...many sales on Budweiser this summer.
Not to nitpick, but I think the weight is closer to 6 pounds/gallon...and water is a couple of pounds or so heavier than that per gallon... Props to ya though, Frank, for the pictures/info... :beer -------------------------- Hillbilly Racing Team Membership has it's privilages...no shoes required!
What? do they have saddle tanks? Yea but the 9lbs makes more sense..... That way for Bob K's Hemi Cuda to weigh as much as my buddies original exhaust, paint, bench seat column shift Hemi Road Runner, it would only take 26.4 gallons vs 39.6 at 6lbs   At 6lbs I don't know where Jim S would put the 55.33 gallons!  :beer o No:
So what's Tom Shaw doing in these last 2 pics? Bowing down and worshipping the "king" or puking? Kinda hard to tell from this angle. Guess we'll have to wait for Tom's photos to tell. Somehow, Dan Matthews dream car "10-4, we'll get him" from "Highway Patrol" will probably show up in a lot of mags before it's put out to stud at Floyd Garrett's. And deservedly so! :TU:
UPDATE! On the "Results" data sheet Just got an updated version of the PSMCDR Results Data Sheet from Dan. I haven't compared the two yet, but Dan assures us that this is the CORRECT version!! It's towards the bottom of the webpage!! :Comp: http://www.geocities.com/fjr3411/
No problem.... You're not nagging Shawn!! I really need the time to print out the results sheet and use the correct info off the sheet instead of relying upon my fuzzy memory!! Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!! The caption has been corrected!! :Brow:
well while I am at it Buick Wildcat 455 vs. Dodge Charger. the buick is a centrion, I dont know the difference but yeah o No:
I don't know where the credit should go, but that updated spreadsheet is KILLER! I'm a closet numbers freak, and appreciate the time/effort it took to put that sheet together with the additional workbooks... :TU:
Ya know what I like about these spread sheets??????? You can always figure out how you were #1 at something! I was the fastest 400c.i. car! WOOOHHHOOOOO!!!!!!!!! Now lets try to break down reaction times! Thanks again for the bench racing fuel for the next few months.
frank, great pics, nice someone got some. I'm Mike McPhillips, ptherwise known as McFord. I have the 72 Ranchero GT. Its a 429 car/truck, not a 428. thanks for throwing pu a pic of it. any of the grand prix and i duking it out? it did better than i expected, especially when it cranked off that 14.94! I trhink the pep talk i gave it did some good. Mike
Mike: Corrections made to the displacement error on your GT, plus I loaded up the only pic we got of your match-up. Unfortunately, all we catch of your "truck" is a bit of the quarter panel and back bumper. Sorry dude!!
thanks frank. BTW, nice Dart. hope you didnt mind wiping my drool off of it at the track. Oh, another thing. Chris thinks he found the problem on his Cobra. Factory tach decided to start messing things up so he disconnected it and took the car out but was only able to run it up to 5k a couple times (too much traffic) but said it seemed ok. he's gonna take it out today or tomorrow and see if it for sure cured it. Mike
Mike: Your GT and the ElCamino both showing up this year was very neat-o!! For the perfect photo "ops" we needed your two car/trucks lined up next to each other, the two Hornets (which we saw) and the 57 Ford of Frank Rices, and Brian Stefina's '58 Merc lined up together!! That's good to hear that Chris figured out what was causing his RPM shortage. He wasn't able to pull over 4500 at the PSMCDR. I figure he and I will have a rematch next year :Brow: Tell Chris I said "hey" and make sure you send him the link to the webpage.
Frank: You bring up a good point here. You and I both had mismatches this year, yours by a car not running right against you, mine against a car that wasn't, then was. Neither was that much fun. What was fun, though was the rabbit and the hound race that I had with the Chevelle after his first round DQ. In the second, I left early and he had agreed to wait until I did. With an 0.8 sec differential between the cars, that seemed fair to me just for fun. Wonder if it would be possible to use handicaps on the tree in the grudge matches after the normal program. I'd love to run faster and slower cars for fun if it was a closer race. Not trying to get a bracket race going by any means (I hate those things), but would be fun to run against some faster and slower cars with a chance of a competition. Whatcha think? Maybe I should start a new post with a poll on this (only Pure Stock participants voting)...???
