Let's start to organize the '07 season. As in the past, if you can give me known schedules for events, I will compile them in a *sticky* on this site.

    THANKS !

Have they set a date for Martin yet? Think that'll be the first one. Thanks.

I think the Martin race is June 22 - 23, they moved away from Father's Day

nothing official, but I am guessing the Pure Stocks are going to be Sept 14 - 15

July 13-15 is a total conflict with the Olds Powered Nats at Norwalk. Imagine that'll really break a lot of hearts here.

OCA Nats are in Bowling Green the following week from 7/17-7/21. Last day we're going to Beech Bend. :bglasses:

This is a little off the subject, but the NSCA schedule is almost solidified:

April 28/29, 2007 National Trail (Columbus OH)

May 19/20, 2007 Atco Raceway (Atco NJ)

June 23/24, 2007 Cecil County (Rising Sun MD)

July 7/8, 2007 TBD (probably Martin MI?)

August 11/12, 2007 Thompson Raceway (Thompson OH)

September 22/23, 2007 National Trail (Columbus OH)

    Six events this year... :TU:

Stanton has had dates confirmed for a while now at the PSMCDR website. It is the 14th and 15th of September, 2007.

Why are most if not all of these pure stock races back east??Thats BS.There are people that live in the midwest and west side that would consider that drive to far.

How Midwest are you? We have people from Louisiana, Fort Worth, 2 from the KC area, Omaha, Minnesota, and I know of one guy coming from California this year to the Sept. race. It is tough to put on an show and I know locally that most of the guys that have the cars Pure Stock ready (Correct engine parts, etc.) don't want to race. Start saving your cookie money to get up to MI. Remember, there is no crying in racing!:Brow:

I realize that people drive some distance to these events but thats just afew out of hundreds of owners or even thousands of owners.Personaly I would love to enter my car but I'm not willing to drive that far.I live in Kansas by the Nebraska border.

    Tim,
Contact the organizers of PSMCDR and start your own race. Kansas has dragstrips, Nebraska has some, and, last I heard, so does Missouri.:TU:

    Tim,

I would love to start up a PSMCDR here in Kansas City or in St. Louis. The problem is that the number of people around here that want to take their show cars out and thrash on them seems to be low. When I show up at a local car show and start talking about running down the track in stock trim, they look at me like I have lost my mind! The thing you have mentioned about distance works in reverse. The core group that is in Michigan/Indiana/Ohio would have to travel 500+ miles. In a perfect world, Chicago/Byron would be a good location as well as the Stanton race.

A good friend of mine has tried the last 2 years to put on a race in Tulsa where everyone has to run on hard tires. He had a stock appearing incentive for those that run manifolds. You want to know how many people showed up with exhaust manifolds last year....2! Unfortuniately, he probably will not get another race off the ground this year.

Okay, now that I am on a rant, how many people would show up to St. Louis for a April/May PSMCDR? Obviously not this year, but would this be worth a try if enough people would commit up front. Would Byron/Cedar Falls,Ia/Route 66 be game for anyone? Lets float this boat!

    Tim,

Where at on the Kansas/Nebraska border? Send me a pm if you want. I am sure that I could get Hodges to show up for a race some place. I don't want to discourage you, just trying to point out that it takes more than 5 racers to make a race.

I would be interested. Especially Byron or Rt. 66. Rt. 66 might be too expensive for a small event, though.

Assuming I'm together and running, I can make Rte 66 or Byron in April,May. If the 66 is still not set, I can bring the Ramrod.
