Which is ironic since the Challenger of today was designed to look like the Challenger of almost 40 years ago.

If the big 3 would just remake the classics like really remake them but with all the modern safety and drivetrain they couldn't keep up with the demand

What Hugger said. Shame on GM sitting back while Dodge sales go through the roof. Or while Mecum and Barrett Jackson has banner sales with 1970 chevelles. Somebody at GM ain’t doing their job. If they came out with a modern Chevelle. That looked old and good. I would buy it. Camaro not doing it for me.

So they come out with a retro Chevelle, you think they are going to take 1oo% of the Challenger sales away? Is it worth coming out with an expensive new design for let's say half of the Challenger sales? As of now, GM & Ford still have the Mustang and Camaro which is really in the same market as the Challenger. That market is getting smaller as many cars are offering great performance but with practicality. Cars like the KIA Stinger will be pecking away at the Camaro/Mustang/Challenger sales as buyers continue going toward more practical choices, you still get the bang, but can easily take your family on a trip in it. You champion Dodge, but the mighty Viper is gone but the Corvette lives on. GM did the right thing with the Vette, it has to be relevant on the world supercar market or it will go by the way of the snake.

The Tesla that beats a corvette cost way more than the corvette. GM did an amazing job getting the price of a base Corvette under $60k. I won't be surprised if later versions of the Corvette are Hybrid.

I am talking about the $60k C8 Corvette not the ZR1

Take the 60k C8 and whatever the sporty Tesla is, drive them both 75-100 miles to the drag strip, race them against each other down the 1/4 mile 12-15 times and then drive them 75-100 miles back home. One of them won't be able to do this without a long recharging session.

Id rather have a base mid eng 2020 vette for 60k instead of my 2003 Z06 that was 52k.... just saying.....

I don't think a Tesla could make 15 full-power quarter mile passes after driving 75-100 miles to the track. Full-power runs deplete the batteries really fast...

The Corvette should of been mid engine by the early 80's. GM has been trying ever since the Aero Vette concept car

I'm curious what the mid-engine Z06 & ZR1 specs will be. I bet it will be insane.

I drive a 2019 Corvette Grand Sport everyday, it even sits outside. Not that I don't like the 2020 version, it just doesn't look like a daily driver anymore. It looks like an exotic sports car and not a muscle GT car. Just my take on it.

I think that was the goal in some ways. Think about the days past and how many people had posters of exotic cars like the lamborghini on the wall. Now younger buyers can get a exotic car for more of a realistic price. The front engine corvette has reached its max potential and has run its course so they needed to go in a new direction. If you like the older 2019 you can buy one for a deal now. I have heard the price drop on the older model has been HUGE. The C7 could be a great bargain if you love that one.

I also think they're prepping the platform for electric versions.

It may not look like a daily driver anymore but on paper the C8 should be as practical, if not more so, than the C7.

You still have luggage space, a reliable NA v8 powerplant, a comparable starting price and best of all, way more traction thanks to better weight distribution.

I'd like to go take a look at it this Saturday. It will be at Kerbeck Corvette in Atlantic city for an interactive tour.

This will probably be one of the last naturally aspirated V8 cars you can buy.

Isn't that what Walmart's and all these new hotels are for......so you can stop every 250 miles and spend the night as you take your family from ohio to Florida on vacation, spend 10 days in the car for 4 on the beach for your 2 weeks........but hey I didn't have to buy 200 in gas for the round trip.......it only cost me an extra 600 in hotels stay to charge my Tesla.

I think the electric thing is good for ppl who rarely go more than 75 miles away
