Hello Mark, I see your into more new and exciting things. You just never slow down do ya'. So glad you posted this want ad, because I have been trying to figure out how to put a cold air intake on my 93 Roadmaster Waggon and this is how I'm going to do it now. Thanks so much Buddy.
Everyone is willing to cut a hole in their firewall to install this option? Not sure of the real performance gain. It would be cool to have an original kit but I don't think I would ever install it. :beers2:
The performance should be measurable at the track, with cool air coming from the cowl area instead of the hot engine bay. The diagram actually has a note on it stating to plug the stock A/C snorkel to keep out hot air. With no other changes, I gained about .5 in the 1/4 in cool fall air compared to mid summer heat. Cool = more power. Not sure I'd cut mine either, but I might buy anyway for later on...
Well David when I ran the Great Scat it was worth .10 to .15. I'm also trying to make a firewall piece that would clean up the installation. I.m making one for my own car. Frank
Now that I think about it the gain may be more than that from a later model GS hood since the '68 scoop is raised higher and is near the base of the windshield. This is just a guess o No:
Frank- do you need one of these set ups for 'mock up'? I can try and get an NOS one to bring the project to fruitition.....o No:
Should be a way to get more people going on this. Can the part be adapted to other GM "A" body cars? Without having to buy the entire run, I sure would like to find a way to make this work
W ith the firewalls with basically the same relation to the aircleaner I would think they could be adapted at least 68-72. Frank
Might get more visibility and response if you were to start a new post in one of the other sections. Just a suggestion. :TU:
