I was finally able to get the green 72 plated at the DMV last week and got it out of storage. Drove it around for the first time this week. I honestly cant believe how nice this car is. There really is something to be said for unrestored, survivor type cars. I even got a compliment with it at a stop light. Must be the color. Even the original woodgrain on the dash is nice

Drove it to a local show on Friday night with Stacy (dentboy). Must of been 90 degrees out. We got in it, put the air on and took off. I was actually getting cold and had to turn it down! Car drives awesome and with the 3.08's, we were cruising at 65 and only taching about 2300. Im so used to the 3.64's in the 70

I bought this car to eventually flip, but the more I look at it and drive it, the more I like it. I was a little nervous about driving it to Allentown, but I don't think Im going to have an issue. This car is really impressing me. I might not let it go!!

Stacy took a really good picture of it when we stopped for fuel. I have to have him text it to me so I can post it

Just took her out for a cruise. I tuned her up yesterday and replaced a bunch of split vacuum hoses. She really runs good. The prior owner swore this car has 30k miles on it. I cant verify that but the car is in such original condition that its hard not to believe it

Thanks for the compliments. It filled a gap in the collection. I always wanted all three years- 70,71 and 72. So now I have a 70 Stage 1 4 speed, a 71 GS-455 automatic on the column and this car. So I have all three years and all three engine/ transmission combinations:pp

Now to figure out a way to get all three side by side for a picture:grin:

    Not liking your 69? :kodak:
Don't worry, it won't mind having it's picture taken with your 70's

Nice ride BTW, hope it's in Allentown on Saturday so I can check it out.

I usually don't care for green cars but that is sharp looking. Very nicely equipped, too.

    Thanks for the compliments!

Got home last night from the BCA nats with it. Drove it there and back with zero issues. Approx 300 miles round trip. Car ran like a top. Not even a hiccup. Didn't use a drop of oil, got 15 mpg and drove like a dream. I had plans of throwing a for sale sign in it, but this car runs so well, Im not sure I want to part with it. There really is something to be said for unrestored originals

But like any car, the drive did uncover a couple things- there is the slightest vibration around 63 mph. I'll bring the tires to my guy to get them match mounted and balanced. And there is the weirdest rattle up front, but I think I found that today when I washed it- the hood pull latch is missing its little rubber grommet. I suspect that was what I was hearing.

But other than that, I'd get in this car now and drive it to Florida without giving it a second though. She's a good runner!!! :beer

TexasT Texas, where are you from

I guess someone added the 350 bansges to the rear quarter? I've not seen that on a GS. Good looking. Glad it is running well.

Yeah, not sure why they are there. Someone put them on at some point. Same for the fender antenna. The owner previous to me said the original owner told him he added it because the windshield antenna wasn't strong enough to pull in stations. Must of been a long time ago because the car only has an AM. Not too many stations on AM these days

Nice score on a nice car

Is it just me or did all the 455 cars get thrashed to $hit? the only nice ones I find are 350's

Maybe you had your glasses off? Without them, you are a dead ringer for your avatar photo. :moonu:
