Just rumor, but I heard that the skid marks in Dave's shorts equates to about a 1.85 60'! :spank:

I can just picture Dave now. He probably has a grin big enough to look like Bozo! :TU:

    Stock Olds head pipes

Check out these headpipes. These are the stock routed 2 1/4 inch ones from a 71 W30 with cutouts added. They were shortened up for the test stand. Now you see why a torque tech system is highly advised.

Congrats Dave! Sorry I could not make it down to Casey's, but spending a week in Royal Oak had me consuming enough suds to get me in shape for the summer foam fest! I just hope I can look good going down the track because I should be seeing you taillights at the big end. (P.S. Casey, I may need to talk to you about a rear end conversion!) :3gears: :spank:

    looking good :TU: :beer

now if I can just figure out why my car has trouble starting warm, I should be good to go. :Do No: All things point to a bad starter. I also need to figure out this stupid driveshaft safety loop  but I may just remove it so I can put some miles on the car first.

    The secret revealed!!!!

At last!! Dave has unwittingly revealed the Olds small-block secret!!

No, it's not the lumberjack at the controls. It's the 6-foot coil wire! I guess when you're not allowed to tune the exhuast, you look for other avenues. What is 6 feet tuned for, Dave -- about 6200 rpm?

Looks great. I bet it'll look even better nestled within the loving embrace of a pair of aquamarine fenders. :Brow:

Casey didn't want to get any closer to the voodoo Pertroniks conversion than 6 feet.

    Good catch .....

I've had about a half dozen BBMopars on the stand for startup, so I was too lazy to move the coil. Nothing a LONG Mopar plug wire can't take care of .......

All I can say is, the car's running, we painted Wabash Avenue black big time last night.

BTW, it still had the 6 foot Mopar coil wire (and 3 feet of fuel hose to the test stand carb). Carb is still at Quad shop, and the coil wire is AWOL. :Do No:

So much for certification. Without your original coil wire, you're SOL.

So, how does she (he? it?) feel, Dave? Strong as back in '68? Of course, it's pulling a little more weight around today than back then ...... (the rear sway bar -- I'm talking about the rear sway bar). How high did you rev it?

Hard to tell, felt very good. Taking it to Milan Weds with a surrogate carburetor (69 Pontiac 350/310 hp, according to the numbers). Found the coil wire, was in the bottom of a case of empty Bud Light cans. :Do No:

B/G: It'll rev..........small revlimiter chip is still in it. Sure like that Test stand AFB carburetor................... :TU:

Can you believe the preregistration for Martin? 41 Factory stockers and 24 F.A.S.T. cars. Heard there's a lot of early activity in the 11.0's, hope the weather cooperates and we get some good air. Somebody's going to win that Year One $1000 booty!

Never concede to a small bore Rusty.

Dave, I'll run ya for a 12 box. You can beat a big ol' heavyweight gold chain cruiser W30, right? :bglasses: :3gears:
