They deserve it. What a game. Can only think of one thing that would have made it better....   OK, Noell.....I owe you $5. Can I fax it to you? Looks like OSU vs UF (See UF has another nailbiter next week) in the nat'l championship game and UM vs USC or Notre Dame in the Rose Bowl for the runner up. Don't see OSU or UM having any problems there, so it'll end up the way it should (this year): OSU #1, UM #2 anyway. Then again, If UM plays ND, and OSU's players all get thrown in jail between now and then, ND could end up #2. The thought of them getting #1 is unbearable. Think OSU may look for another center between now and bowl time, though. Almost cost them the game...twice. Hate that helmet to helmet rule, too. One thing if you're head butting, another if you're pushed even if by your own guy. Love the instant replay and review, though.
Dave ,I didn't want that game to end. UM played with more heart than OSU. I think we got lucky well maybe not all luck we do have some talent. I think the refs did a fine job (for a change) and some great plays from both teams. After UM scored their last TD my daughter she's eight, stops writing her letter to Santa to ask me why my face is so red. All I could do was laugh. Just learned yesterday that Bo Schembechler was from Barberton Ohio that's the next city to the west of me. Don,t bother faxing the money I'll wait for Martin. Oh and Dave one more thing no CHANGE paper money only please.
That game was awesome. Good officiating, good playing by both teams. All-in-all, an instant classic in college football. The only thing that sucked was the turf .... Oy-vay ...... ou:
My brother has been absolutely fanatical about OSU this year. I'm not much of a football fan, so I was going to call him right before the end of the game with some stupid question about law (he's an attorney) because he always interrupts shows I watch with stupid computer questions. I did watch some of the game - it was a very good game. I don't get the points and rankings though - it seems the system has made a lot of people unhappy.
OK, BCS, whatcha gonna do now? REMATCH! REMATCH! REMATCH! Thank you UCLA for removing any doubt, shouldn't have been any anyhow. So, Noel, we back on for another $5? Or do you want points this time since it's on a neutral field? :bglasses: :bglasses:
The SEC will freak out if they don;t get OSU. Why should a team get into a title game while losing? Florida won the right to play and had a tough schedule and won their conference. That being said a OSU MICH rematch would not even be close. OSU will not spot you two turnovers inside the Buckeye 20. And if you are still crying over the roughing call, go back and check out the 3rd and forever phantom pass interference on the Buckeyes that gave Michigan a first down and another score. Scoreboard of that game was way closer than the actual situation. It will be great roughing up Michigan big time if there is a rematch. Troy Smith will want to avenge his errors and Hart will eat his words when he spouted that OSU defense was not very good!!! The jail thing is 5 years old and left over from the COOPER regime.
Nobody's whining here about why Ohio State only beat UM by 3 points on their own field, don't know why you're getting so anal about it. Let the SEC cry. What's so great about beating Tallahassee State? Read my first post again, I started this thread saying I believe Ohio State is #1. Post season games are just that, post season games. Far as I'm concerned there's only one undefeated team and it should be #1. Post season bowl games are a joke, just for marketing and $$$. Let Michigan play Florida for #2 or is that what you're really scared of? So if Florida wins and Michigan wins, I guess that makes OSU # 3 then? What if Notre Dame or USC wins? What if all of them win? This is stupid to debate.
QUOTE Think OSU may look for another center between now and bowl time, though. Almost cost them the game...twice. Hate that helmet to helmet rule, too. One thing if you're head butting, another if you're pushed even if by your own guy. Love the instant replay and review, though. I am not anal about it, just stating the facts. I hope OSU get Michigan even though I feel Mich has no business in a rematch.
I guess I don't see your logic here. They did have a center that almost cost them the game twice, and that unintentional "head butt" call did really affect the game. Stupid rule. Almost as dumb as the facemask rule used to be when it was intentional or not. At least that has been corrected. If Arkansas had beaten Fla like it was looking when I wrote this post in the 3rd quarter last night, BCS did have a big problem on their hands. And so would Ohio State. Michigan would have nothing to lose. As it stands, OSU should have no problem with Florida, and UM should have no problem with whoever plays in the Rose bowl. But if OSU loses, how far will they drop? Can't see them staying #2 if it's more than a 3 point spread on a neutral field. But if OSU stomps Fla, and Fla remains ranked #2, then it'll show how much B.S. there really is in B.C.S. Determining who is number one from a one shot bowl game is stupid. There's one undefeated team at the end of the season. They should be #1. They squeaked by another team on their home field. They should be #2. Let's just start counting chads, buy a judge or two, and keep counting until ND is appointed (or is it annointed?) #1 and get on with round ball season. Easy to tell who's the best team there as they play each other (and everybody in the conference) during the season, and the winner is announced in a single elimination tournament. Why can't football players play more than once a week? (Or once a month at bowl time?) Panty wastes.
Dave, Rematch no problem...no points either. You know it seems funny in order for Ohio State to be number 1 at the end of season we have to beat you twice. In order for you to be number 1 you just have to split. But that's the way it goes. This season we have to play number 2 three times ou: .I really wanted a shot at the LSU.
Florida was so impressive slopping it's way past Arkansas that the USA Today Coaches poll moved them up past U-M into 2nd place......... the shaft job on U-M is on.......
Honestly, I'm so sick of hearing the OSU vs. UM crap over the years that I couldn't care less about seeing them play *yet again*, BUT...I'm for anything that makes this piece of crap that is the BCS look like a joke! I'm hoping they leave out Florida, UM plays OSU again for the "championship", and the SEC folks crap themselves and boycott the entire thing next year...then without their money/support, the BCS implodes, and we finally get a friggin' actual bracketed playoff of some kind! Shove the BCS bowl bames into a bracket and do it up March Madness style... :TU:
My gawd, what a disaster........... OOPS. Looks like a major part of my Social Security check this month will be heading to Akron..........who were those guys? o No: Anybody got a coach they don't need? 3 straight to OSU and a dismal bowl record........ain't gonna get it. See 'Bama is after Nick Saban big time. At least somebody remembers what you're supposed to do on the football field.
I'm lovin' it...now if only Ohio State will lose, and TOTALLY piss in the BSC's Cheerios... Hey, you strokes at the NCAA: whether you care to believe it or not, D-1 football is *NOT* too good to actually need a playoff...just think how big the Boise State win would be if it actually meant something and they were moving on to the field of 4?
good replay on the knee not hitting the ground. i was hoping the knee hit the ground. the refs called a great game.
Boise State I never heard of Boise State until a week ago, but that has to be one of the best Bowl games I ever saw. The Oakies never knew what hit them until the middle of the third quarter.Love It. Gee Dave, I'm so sorry about UM (snicker) hope ND does better tomorrow nite, I don't have much faith. ou:
:bglasses: Maybe this is what it will take to get a coach that knows how to finish the job in front, not just run a good race. Always liked Lloyd Carr, but think he's had his chance. Gotta beat Ohio State or win the Bowl game. Preferably both. Now Alabama has stepped up to the plate and has had enough of getting pushed around. Saban will have them in BCS next year (or hopefully whatever replaces it) and a national title contender the following year. He's a magnet for superior high school talent who want to be with a winner. We have a family pool of 19 people for these games. Everybody picked LSU for tonight's game except one nephew. We threw his ass out of the pool!  Go Buckeyes, but don't win by too much. I already owe half an SS check in the hole to Noel for the UM-OSU and now the UM-USC joke. I'll have to start offering up rare Olds parts for his Hurst pretty soon. :Brow: :Brow:
Nd vs LSU Dave, Hope your families wisdom is like most "common wisdom" wrong. Find out tonite.
