But where did they get those rankings from, really? OSU and UM both got beat like they stole something, both by teams that everyone said wouldn't/shouldn't even be in the ballgame!

Florida had been off for 35 days or whatever, so that 50 days rest argument doesn't hold water...

Ohio State plays like that and only gets dropped to second? Puhlease.........

Forget the national rankings. They're meaningless the way it is now. Michigan beat Wisconsin 27-13 and only lost to Ohio State by 3. Guess you don't want to go to the big one and lose, better to go to a lesser one and win.........

I wouldn't have a problem with any of this if Ohio State had dropped a bunch like UM. They played one bad game, Michigan played one bad game. BFD.

    Go Bama!

At least the big 10 and SEC have some validity. The big 12 showed as a joke this bowl season. Only 2 big 12 teams remained in the top 25, OU #11 and Texas #13. Pathetic is the only word I can come up with for this season. But look out for next season....

Congrats to Florida! You saved DaveH 's bacon!

not for nothin, but you know i think the logic for OSU being #2 is because it was pretty much understood that the two teams playing in the championship game were the top 2 teams in the nation no matter which one lost or won. as far as m*ch*g*n plummeting in the rankings, well they have 2 losses. look who's ahead of them in the standings: one loss teams. the only 2 loss teams that are ranked ahead of m*ch*g*n is USC (and they played each other and USC proved to everybody that they were better than m*ch*g*n.) and the other team is LSU, who's losses came at the hands of #1 Florida and #9 Auburn. LSU won decisively in the Sugar Bowl and that also plays a big role in the rankings. if you believe that OSU should drop below the top 5 or whatever, than i'm assuming that you would also think that a team that got blown out in the super bowl or world series isnt the 2nd best team in that sport. because you know, even in a playoff system, not every team will play each other. the fact is, the 2 best teams are in the championship game. yes, in college football we've had contraversy over this, but there was no contraversy over undefeated OSU playing for the title. the only thing i can see someone calling shenanigans on is Wisconsin being ranked ahead of m*ch*g*n after they lost to them and the difference in their records being negligeable.
