1978 Ford Econoline cargo van. My dad had windows put in and bolted old Thunderbird seats in the back for us kids. It was actually a really cool comfortable truck to take vacations in! And when it died, we replaced it with a 1983 Ford Econoline, and put the same old Thunderbird seats in the back!
A 1952 Buick Super Riviera (2 dr hardtop), 61 Special Deluxe wagon and a 64 Skylark wagon (aka Sportwagon). Do you notice a trend here and WHY there is a list of over 6 current Buicks in my possesion. :jd: Mark
My parents split when I was young.... and there's "day-n-night" differences between the cars they each had while I was growing up. See if you can guees who I got my "muscle car influences" from. :gt: Dad... 66 Mustang GT 66 Impala SS conv (stick shift) 77 Trans Am 455 (I think it was a 77 anyways...bright yellow, shaker scoop, "bird" on the hood, full ground effects) 67 Impala 327 HO 66 Mustang 289 76 Hornet X 360 low 13's (still has this one) Misc trucks - chevy and ford Mom... 70 something Gremlin 70 something Mustang II (4 or 6 cyl??) 84ish Escort ("olympic edition" with red/wht/blue stripes) another late 80's/early 90's Escort? 88 Mustang conv 4 cyl Now she drives a new KIA suv (tiny little thing) Those are the ones that stand out in my mind anyways.
Hmmm, I seem to remember a 60's Chrysler model with the push button auto transmission, when I was pretty small, and I think there may have been a Stude before that, when I was just old enough to be aware of what it was. I remember riding in it the day it gave up the ghost. Later on early teens we had a 76 Plymouth Fury III, with a 360(?) that was a great highway cruiser. I remember being 15, and getting up to about 90 before I got off the gas. I drove a 74(?) Dodge Ramcharger on my first date, at 15, Dodge's version of a full size Blazer. Fortunately my big brother bought a 68 GS400 around that time, and exposed me to Buick power. Even so, I almost bought a 72 Challenger in 1979 for my first car. But it was $2500, and a 73 Nova SS was only $1800... o No:
1983 Olds Delta 88 with the 350 Diesel until I was about 5, then we got a BRAND NEW 1988 Olds Cutlass Ciera. How exciting... I kind of still wish we had the Delta 88 ... could turn it into a mean highway car as long as I get rid of the diesel... and I could sell the diesel to those that build them into race engines Right now, I'm the only one with cars in my family (my mom and I) because of her condition (stuck in a wheel chair and doesn't drive much)... I do drive my grandmothers 98 Subaru Outback since she just lives across the street, so does my mom... but I only drive it when the snows real deep and I wanna have fun on the backroads
ahh... from when I can rember... there was an acent toyota, that died about the time i was born. 77 caprice station wagon some yellow creme color with wood grain:laugh: can fit a full 4'x8' sheet of plywood between the wheels in that baby. mid 80's orange mustang with the rear window louvers:TU: lil 4banger 87 honda accord I still drive 88 s10 4 cylinder long bed 94 Lesabre maroon. 99 s-10 2wd v-6 98 Rivera pearl white supercharged my younger sis drives the lesabre now rents only still have the 98 Rivera, though, don't ya think that would make an excelent college graduation gift? nate

Can't remember the year, but mom at a buick electra 225 and dad had a 68 buick skylark. Then dad had a chevy citation, then celebrity, then lesabre, lesabre, and now 2001 lesabre. Mom went from the 225 to 78 park ave (wich i now have) to a lesabre.
It must be in the blood.... There were various '55-'57 Specials, a '59 LeSabre. I remember a 5? Olds and a '60 Ford S/W (always broke down on long trips), a '62 Buick wagon, but the one I remember most was the 1967 Chevelle SS my dad bought brand spanking new ($2600). Dark blue, bench seat, no air, poverty hub caps, oh yeah 4 on the floor. My mom got a speeding ticket in this car. Unforntunately, the "new car fever" hit him again about 1969. I remember begging him to keep this car until I was 16 so I could drive it (I was 9 years old at that time). It got traded in at Spitzer Buick for a new 1970 LeSabre (with a 455). I think he said one of the guys working there drove off in it. You know, I kinda remember him "browsing" the Skylark line (GS's maybe?) when we were there looking around. But on a brighter note, we did own a 1970 GS 350 when I was around 17.
I was born in 64 , Dad brought me home in a 1962 Chevy Bel Air wagon ... white , with a blue interior and mismatched fenders .. he kept that until 1970. In 70 he bought a 69 Chevy Impala 2 dr Turquoise blue with a black vinyl top.. he loved that car right up until 1974 when my older brother totaled it. In 74 he bought a 73 Chevelle 4 door. Yellow with a black vinyl top. he kept that until 1980 when I put it in a demo derby and took second place  IN 80 he bought a 76 Cutlass 442 Blue with white stripes along the bottom, God I loved that car . In 1984 he bought an 81 Skylark Limited 4 door and I got the 442 :TU: He kept the Skylark till 89 then I got that too. In 89 he got a brand new Cutlass Ciera (the 1st new car he ever bought) I moved out shortly after that. Hes 79 yeears old now and drives a really laid out 01 Bonneville I think its an SSE but Im not sure . My older brother now owns the 89 Ciera . Family automotive history complete :Smarty: Dan

Rick, my parents sound the same! Anyway, we still have all of my childhood cars but one. My dad brought me home in a red CJ-7 with a 5 speed and 258, at the time, my mom had an 86 Taurus wagon. Biggest POS I've ever seen - all of the trim was too tight and cracked after one summer, the bores on those are coated, so after 40,000 miles, the coating wore off and it got knocks. So we needed a new engine, the alignment was perpetually off, etc. She mashed it up under the back end of a Honda and it was totaled. no loss. That was replaced with the 92 Cherokee with a 4.0L. First car I saw 100 in. Anyway, last year, my Dad bought a 95 Aspire for his daily driver because the Jeep is getting tired and is going to need a full frame-off. PReviously, though, they had Dad: 1955 Bel Air (straight 6) 1961 Bel Air (straight 6) 1962 Bel Air (straight 6, 283, 427) (notice a trend?) 1955 Buick special (not a clue) 1972 Nova (350 4BBL) 1974 CJ-5 (258) 1978 Cherokee (401) Mom: 1971 Ford Pinto (4 banger) 1977 Mustang (straight 6)
As far back as I can remember Dad; 86 el camino, bought it new, drove it for 3 years and sold it to my grandfather. 72 chevy shortbed pick up. Restored, black, 350 chevy, auto trans, vintage air, rallie rims. 1990 corvette hard top 92 jaguar xj6 1993 suburban 96 jaguar xj6 98 dakota 4x4 92 dodge diesel dually another 86 El camino 86 chevy 4x4 pick up (winter truck, i drive it when its not snowing) Mom; 88 corvette 86 corvette 90 lincoln town car 92 corvette convertible (my favorite) 92 lincoln town car 94 BMW 740iL 95 toyota land cruiser 97 expedition 99 F350 crew cab diesel 2000 VW beetle. ________ Harriet
the only cool car i remember my father owning when i was young was a 68 plymouth sport fury III, had the 383 comando with the 727 tourque flite. I like the fury styling especially the 66 models
1972 Ambassador wagon. Black with woodgrain. I wish wish wish my Dad would have taken care of it and handed it down to me. It was so cool!
1958 Buick Special 1964 Buick Wildcat (Black with 401 auto) sharp car 1970 Buick Electra 225 (Blue/White top 455 auto) 1977 Buick Electra 225 (Dark Green 403 auto) NOW I know why I like Buicks! It is in my blood. LOL Zach
An early 60s convertible I barely remember; Chevy, I think. No heat, and the passenger door had to be tied shut. I was almost born in that car, but my dad drives fast. Mid-60s Chevrolet with a huge trunk. 72 Ford Galaxie 500. You know, the ones with the bad metal. We still have the heavy wire-wheel hub caps. 78 Ford LTD with in-dash 8-Track. 84 Mercury Gran(d) Marquis. 90-something saucer-shaped Cutlass Supreme. Late 90s Pontiac Bonneville. 2002 Grand Marquis - My dad likes The Marquis. My dad's cars were the "family" cars. My mom had a 67 Camaro RS, 74 Camaro Type LT (not an engine package), 73 Cutlass Supreme (nice car), 88 Cutlass Ceirra, and 2000 Plymouth Breeze. Me: 1970 Skylark Custom Convertible - Yep, so long as it doesn't rust away first, I plan on keeping it even after I graduate, get a real job, and start a family. Though no one is holding their breath.
