We owned a '66 Shelby for a couple years...super fun little car, and the 306hp(?) 289 was a blast...almost made the roller coaster roads around here tolerable...almost. Oh, and the exhaust for the Yellow Submarine has been ordered...
Used to be a black 65/66 Mustang notchback that ran NMCA years ago. Launched it at 7000+ and shifted at 10k. It literally screamed....until it dropped the crankshaft out of it (literally) on the starting line at Milan one day. Don't know what kind of RPM's Barrie Poole ran his Mustang (another black one) up to back then, but damn that car was fast and his shifts were like lightning. All you heard were the tires digging in at each shift. Sounded like an automatic....but wasn't. My brothers' Formula S 65 Barracuda with the 4 speed 273 really liked to wind up, too. Hope he gets this new one done and brings to Pure Stock some day.
This winter will be a good time to sort out my Trans am's traction trouble. Any F body guru's out there with some suggestions? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4zRV5baXBxg
Traction Bruno I could help you as my '71 HO with 4spd will pull mid 1.90 short times but I also have stock in both Kelsey and Coker tires and I prefer to continue profitting from your traction woes. Mark
Notice how I'm a lot easier on this car? Its still sportin' its original redlines from its maiden voyage at Martin. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N88TQQUhrhM
sell one....buy one? Welp, since I have two leaving the ranch, it only makes sense to find at least one replacement o No:
Based on the few trips down the 1320 this summer, in no particular order: More gear-Most likely a 4.62 Looser convertor-My 2500 stall creeps in the lights at 1800 RPM Fix the Posi or else the first two are moot-Maybe I'll get two hole shots out of it next summer Put a stronger fuel pump in-4,000 RPM in second gear I'm running out of fuel Put the chrome trim around the windows Install the dr. side seat back that's been sitting in my Florida room for 5 months Rebuild/replace the shifter so I can stop the 1-3 shift Figure out why the battery is charging and fix it Get ready to :3gears: next spring
So much for seeing he full potental of the 'Bundy' Mobile. Hope all is well in Husker land after the Sooner beating. ou:
