LOL, Alan! I just got an email from Mitch with his price list. Believe it or not, I am really trying to concentrate on essentials like the brake lines at the moment.

Bob Christo offered me a free set of rallyes in addition to the free ones Yards gave me (pick the best 4) and I already have the tires to put on them from my GSX, so no cost other than mounting.

I'd like to get AC and tunes before driving it to Salem, but we'll have to see how the fundage goes. That's my next priority as it'll be a long hot boring ride otherwise. I can do without centers until I can save for them, or maybe until Larry possibly finds a reasonable set at the GS Nats.

You know how it is. You get a new toy and you want everything at once! Dual quads, posi rear, dual exhaust, new paint, nice rims..... Then reality sets in and you manage your money and your expectations.

There's a lot of sweat improvements to be made. Like finishing up the engine compartment detail that Yards started. Or buffing the snot out of the paint to get whatever gloss may be left.

Ken , I got 7 or 8 center caps with my GS cat but only have 3 center medallions. If you are interested in the centers let me know. what was the price for the repro center medallions ?I am going to need at least one.

OK Ken, between me and Tom you have 4 centercaps. Either run without the insert, use 3 Riv ones, or pop a round piece of metal plate in them and paint them any color you think will look nice. You shouldn't have any trouble getting 4 round pieces of sheet metal made, right?

    Tom-

I'd like to buy one of the caps from you to go with the three Yardley has. Let me know what you'd like for it! Also, Mitch didn't list out the medallion separate from the cap. I'm not sure that he sells them that way. At any rate, the cap/medallion assembly is $50 a pop.

    Yards-

I certainly can have some sheet metal made up! Either stainless I can polish or cold rolled I can paint. Good idea.

    Alan-

I'll take the one on the right. It'll be perfect! I can listen to Guy Lombardo, Danny Kaye, the Andrews Sisters (is Beth related?), and Dinah Shore the whole way out to Salem. I plan to drive 51 mph in the left lane with my left turn signal on wearing those big cataract sunglasses and a spiffy hat with a little red feather in it the whole way! Please include extra batteries.

Tom, I ended up with two of Duane's date code manuals in my truck, so I guess I have yours? I'll hand it to you next time we see each other.

Ken, guess that's the reason I haven't seen it. I'll dig out those A/C units I have within the next week or so. Today was a waste, had to go for jury duty, but was let off the hook. Thanks!!!!

    Hey Tom Lynch-

    Sent you a PM. Thanks!

    Tom Telesco-

I'm really interested in what those AC units look like and how much room it'll take up under the dash. I'm hoping to still have room for gages and a radio, but we'll see. I need to figure a date to get the car to you for the trans and driveshaft service. The problem is I'm having too much fun driving it! I have about 600 miles on it since I picked it up last saturday!

    Jury duty sucks.

Ken.....man, that comet and wax sure done the trick! Looks real spiffy. I watched the Wildcat from behind while we were going up Rt.1, and it sits up real nice on the road. Remind's me of how these cars rode when they were new.

Ken, that polish I have is for removing 2000 grit scratches and buffing swirls, so I don't think it is abrasive enough for you.

I'll ship the 3 center caps off to you on Saturday, I hope.

Ken , the cap is in the mail , you should have it in 2-3 days. shipping was less than a cup of coffe , so just buy me one sometime and we will be even :TU:

    Droptop-

Sorry I didn't get a chance to meet you at the picnic. That is a sweet looking car you have there! I hope you got all the maple seeds out of it by now! The comet did a great job. I bought some 3m Perfect-It II Rubbing compound and tried it on a few select spots. I believe the sides of the car will look like new and the horizontal surfaces will look good, but not as shiny. As soon as I find the time I'll buff the whole darn thing out! Should really make it pop!

    Yardley and Tom-

Thanks for sending the caps! Tom, have you been to any of the northeast events? I don't think we've met. If you get a chance, come on down to one of the events like Englishtown. You are guaranteed to have a good time and I can buy you that cup of coffee!! Thanks again! :TU:

    Ken,

Remember those big car rallyes come in several flavors. I think seven total. So before you go mounting tires, make sure you have the right wheels. Later seventies wheels have an offset different from the sixties wheel, thus a large, finned centercap will stick out way to far and look silly. Also, some of those wheels were 7 inch wide. Eighties station wagon I believe. Anyway, a 7 inch wide wheel won't fit over a Wildcat brake drum without a spacer.

Did you get enough centers? How about insets?
